1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

Can anyone tell me which way the batteries go on this bad boy? I'm stuck @ work and don't have time to look through the thread to see if it has already been posted.

Thanks,
Mike

Mine go plus inward, as in case negative.

i'm hoping i can make my purchase tonight. :)

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

I got mine today and am waiting for the batteries to charge. It would not come on when I got it due to low batteries. I cant hardly wait for these to charge.

Can I use store bought non-rechargeable CR123A batteries?

Well batteries have charged for several hours now and nothing..... don't know if its the laser or the batteries/charger I can not test the voltage of these batteries since I loaned out my meter. Nothing happens when I put in the batteries and click the button not even the faintest blue light. I tried it when it first arrived and it did barely light up but it was VERY weak. I just figured it was the weak batteries.

bummer....

Office Depot also has Nonrechargeable CR123As...forget the price but if they are closer may wanna check that out.

Question-
I have the charger that came in a green box, model 16340. I'm wondering what the status light should look like when the batts are fully charged. I put my batts in directly out of the USPS envelope from yobresal and the led was solid red. Is this a charging state and then the led turns green or off entirely? Does solid red indicate the batts are fully charged? As far as I know, yobresal sends them out requiring a charge so I'm a bit confused.

Green usually means they're charged. The first charge usually takes a couple hours so don't worry if it stays red for a while.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

Red=charging
Green=charged
Off=broken or not making contact

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

Allllllrighty then....quick review.

Ill start off by saying I don't have any testing equipment nor any other laser to compare yobresals laser to with the exception of a $5 complete POS pen/red laser and blue led combo. Good for cats but thats about it.

First off, the transaction between yobresal and myself went quickly and flawlessly. Any questions I had were addressed via PM's and were responded to quickly. He shipped it out on a Wed, USPS Priority, and I received it Fri AM. Thats 2 days from CA to NH. Could have been a bit more padding in the envelope IMO but it was adequate. The package showed no signs of damage whatsoever and contained the agreed upon items.

The host used by yobresal is fairly minimalistic and very nice feeling in the hand. The black finish is nice and the switch seems of very good quality. It fits very nicely into cargo pants pockets or jacket pockets without any snags. After trying the "teflon tape" mod and not being happy with it, I went with the "spring" mod on the lens as it turned way too freely. It's perfect now.

Again, having nothing to compare its output to, except the 5mW cat toy, I'd say this laser is slightly more powerful. A good comparison would be a child's suction cup dart gun compared to saaaay....idk...... a 16" battleship gun!!! It's fricken nutty!! The focus works very nicely and the beam is sooooo sexy :drool: I almost couldn't care less about burning power but on fairly spent batteries it punched through a black plastic TV dinner bowl in maybe 3-4 seconds. May have been able to do it faster but my back was turned to it and my eyes shut so I have no idea if the focus could have been improved.....yeah....no goggles yet.

All I can really say is I'm very happy with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to buy from yobresal again, especially if he came up with another nicely priced laser with a different style host/laser color..hint hint.

I'm sure you all know but I feel I have to say it. Don't turn it on unless you are absolutely sure you and everyone else around you isn't in danger and you are damn sure you know where any reflections will go. Consider people and reflective surfaces you can't see in the immediate vicinity. Hate to make people read it again but treat it as a loaded weapon and when you lase something treat it as if you were sending a bullet downrange.

Thanks, CrossOut and yobresal. Fades from red to green when charged. Wasn't posted anywhere including on the charger itself or the box :mad: and didn't wanna chance burning up my co-workers...well, some of em could use a nice searing :eg:

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

Any idea on the run time off of 1 charge of the batteries?

Also, in the first post you say that a charger is included but in a later post on the first page you say that charger is not included, I assume the first post was edited and still is correct?
