Will 4.99mW Laser Scare Birds In A Daylight?

...posts/threads here on this-- don't really know why so many do not search. == JL.org BTW does sell lots of their 'bird lasers'-- more $$ made at JL on those than on portables sez JL. An excellent bird deterrent is provided by falconers and their hawks. IIRC big geese are the main...

    Lasers used AT airports

...at the sound of any explosion, even if it's just a truck tyre rupturing. So yeah, using laser or trained birds of prey to scare off potential geese and such from hanging around the airports is currently preferable. It may also be more effective as birds do get used to those boom noises...

    Lasers used AT airports

Yeah after a little research ive seen some massive $40k bird scaring laser systems. My little pie in the sky idea for offering services at small local airfields seems, now sober, to be quite ridiculous. :D

    Lasers used AT airports

...it for quite some time, and it is effective to some degree. I reckon it depends on the species of bird though. Our airport has problems with geese, which are large enough to damage jet engines if ingested, but apparently startled by laser beams. This does not work for all birds though, i've...

Low powered Laser, why a GREAT success in BIRD control?

Guess not, but birds haven't changed much in 7 years ;) Lasers are used around airports to chase away things like geese, i think they're still doing that around amsterdam airport once in a while use green lasers. City pigeons don't seem to give a rats ass for any color though. These birds are...

Optotronics RPL-II 532 nm +1400 mW - opinions and experience?

Yes, for 100% duty cycle nothing beats a lab laser. Quick story: One of my best customers who uses the RPL & RPLII for geese control has also recently started using our OEM 532nm 2W lab system for this purpose as well. The OEM units don't have cooling, so a big heat sink must be provided by the...

Optotronics RPL-II 532 nm +1400 mW - opinions and experience?

...one to the close friend/forum member who does some of my product photography (see RPL above). pretty much all others have gone to farmers for geese control, government wildlife agencies for who knows what and maritime security companies for piracy prevention. 3. they do have a reduced duty...

    Optotronics problem(fixed)

...very fast reaction, Jack. Rep+ And please do not forget I'm still interested in your new RPL-II 532 nm 1.4+ W, so get back to me as soon as the geese are flown away, please. Thanks. ;) BTW: I also like these quotes Alex has in the signature. Both those people are ideals for me and have given...

    Aliexpress Rediculous Advertising

...set them on fire or otherwise kill them, though i guess they could be blinded in some cases. Lasers are actually used to startle birds (like geese, the sort that can wreck big jet engines when pulled through) at the airport here, getting them away from the runways and such. I'd presume...

    Laser for scaring away seagulls

Canada geese is the plural of canada goose. many make that mistake, so your chances of sounding dumb are low. but fyi. I only know because birds are like my thing. I'm a bird guy

    Laser for scaring away seagulls

In my area it's mostly an issue in parks because of canadian geese, there are too many of them as it is, literally crapping all over, they feed off of bluegrass apparently, which is very common, and in parks it's even worse because some do feed them. There are signs all over not to feed...

    Laser for scaring away seagulls

Actually get a pusher park flyer like the aero bird RC plane ....very easy to fly and maneuver . I have "chased " geese using that. Ensure prop is in the back not front ....LOL ! That might kill the bird and damage plane (bird hit)!

    Hello From Other Side :)

Welcome Obokash. We had a couple raccoons come through a screen door flap we use for our cats. I chased them out a couple times yelling and stomping my feet but sure enough they would come back within 10-20 minutes. So I waited for them by monitoring a CCTV trained on the outside of that...

    Hello From Other Side :)

I appreciate your suggestion. It's not that we've tried that but it's not that great and accurate trying shooting a rat and coyotes in dark with a pellet/air gun. Also, don't leave a much of in impact. Don't wanna kill any animal either as they are part of the Eco system. Just burn them enough...

    Hello From Other Side :)

I have dealt with lasers used for pest control (geese and crows mainly) and it works more on a visual aspect than a physical burning aspect. You would have to hold the laser perfectly still and the animal would have to hold still also to give the laser time to cause any type of sting or burn...

"LIGHTHOUND" closed ..... another U.S. supplier gone.

...were a resource I relied on--always thought they would be there forever. Is bad/sad news for sure to hear they have gone the way of the wild geese. So many great small family owned businesses have fallen--USA is in a very pathetic state, jobs and economy wise. Hopefully there is still time...
