  • Just wanted to let you know that I ordered another diode from Radiant Electronics - Home and the laser worked perfect when I soldered on your leads.
    Thanks,
    Sean
It could be an number of things. Which is why details and pictures are needed. Most common problems are:
    * Cheap battery
    * Powered the driver before connecting the diode
    * ESD damage to the diode (careless handling)

Diodes are sensitive, and can easily be damaged. Which is why it is very hard to assign blame on the seller of the diode...
ok so i disconnected the negative pin from the case pin and it is still only letting out a little light and heating up. Could it be that I got screwed by somebody and they gave me a lower mw diode than i paid for?
@shammock, in my instruction sheet, I mention that with my 'Hot' option kit, the diode case pin is not used. However, it may not be a problem if you use it anyway. I would need to see detailed pictures of your build in order to try and figure out what is wrong. You should take some pictures, and start a thread in the help and tutorials section...
    Hey Jay,
I got the stuff you sent me and soldered the case pin to my negative pin(i saw that on a tutorial) and then the pins to the leads but when i put in the battery and turned it on there wasnt even a beam of light there was light like a flashlight(and not much of it) and around the heatsink was getting hot please help i dont know who else could
Yo im intrested in the solar force build kit with the hot option for a 445 build, what type of duty cycle will this be cpable of?
    @ Anu,
I can set you up with a complete build minus the diode. But you can get your diode pre-installed into an AixiZ module with lead wires soldered on. So it is very easy to just connect your diode leads, to my driver leads. ('Hot' option kit)

    Sending PM...
Hi Jayrob, I'm interested in a bunch of stuff you are offering, mostly the Saik SA-305 kit and the monster maglite, but I have never built much of anything before on this level. Do you think these projects are acceptable for a beginner?

Also, I am trying to figure out everything I would need for the SA-305 setup and what it would cost.
I don't trust myself soldering lead wires onto sensitive electronic components so,
    $55 for the diode
    $25 for the charger
    $20 for the battery
    $20 for some safety glasses
    $59 for the basic Kit
Is it an additional $48 for the flexdrives glued to the pill? Does this only include one drive? to produce 1.35 A? What are my options here?

Of the following, i presume I would only need either the AixiZ module and lens OR the 405 G-1 lens, assuming I am using the recommended diode, is this correct?

So, I'm looking at about $282(+shipping) total?
    Thanks,
    Andrew
