FAA & Air Force laser video

Have never seen that Video... Thanks for posting it..
It should perhaps be posted on the WL forum...

+1 Maybe someone viewing this video will realize that it's a true risk to the pilot/passengers and more than a mere nuisance, and decide not to do it.

Interesting video, but I see a few things they should change.. The glare from the lasers
are far too stable and unrealistic of an actual event. If you have seen real footage
from an idiot aiming at aircraft, the flash is intermittent and comes in random bursts.

They also mention that laser pointers are banned in .AU, that is not the case only a ban
on lasers exceeding a determined value...

They also mentioned that the most common in strikes from a laser were both red
and green.. I have yet to read an article of a red laser being used.. Luckily blue
has not been used yet, as most are class 4 and far more of a hazard.

There is a company who has released 'shields' for pilots seen here > NoIR LaserShields: Glareshield laser glasses for pilots, offering aircraft protection from laser pointer strikes and green and blue laser illuminations

Their video is also more indicative of an actual event. This does not
include the explanation offered in the OP's video..

Damn I had no idea how EVEN a 5mW greenie blinds a pilot
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to KGB_Productions and wannaburn for posting great and informative videos.

My father is actually an FAA air traffic controller. So, it is interesting to see the pilots perspective of this happening and not just hearing about it from the controllers point of view.

Also, 400th Post!!! I am on my way to 500!
