Dr.Lava is backed up I think. I ordered a Groove drive on the 7th. Still waiting on it.

If we're waiting on Lava instead of Jeff, one of two things will likely happen:

1) In .001% of purchases from drlava, the item is shipped so fast that it arrives before the person ordered it or even knew they needed it.

2) In the other 99.999% of purchases from drlava, the shipping time was so long that the buyer's projects became obsolete, their bodies aged and haggard, and their grandchildren married before the item arrived.

In either case, you'll be lucky to get a single peep out of the seller with regards to when you can expect your goods.. VERY lucky.

Man I wish I was able to do whatever I damn well please with my business with absolutely no regard for customer service.. I should take a lesson from the DMV or Postal Service just like drlava obviously has. It's pretty nice when you're the only person supplying your products.

But I don't really want that.. Regardless of competition or the absence thereof, I have a genuine concern for whether my customers are happy, no matter whether we're talking laser shows, IT stuff, electronics or any other service I provide. It's a matter of personal pride in what I do, and plain, simple respect for those who have chosen to do business with me. I show them respect because their patronage is what makes my businesses run, which in turn allows me to care for those who depend on me. But hey, whatever works I guess. I can't wait until Jeff has these in hand.. In my experience he has an extremely good concept of customer service.

I do try to do the best I can to serve my customers !
once I do have these in hand I will try and keep them in stock ;)

I talked to Andrew on Saturday and he told me the P3's are still on schedule
to be delivered to him before the end of the month and he will ship them
right out to me the same day ! that only leaves two days.
I have to say I know Andrew is not the best at keeping everyone informed as
to what is happening so I hope I will be able to fill that info gap as he seems to talk to me ok ;)

Peace All...

Consider yourself lucky.. I'm sure it has everything to do with your volume purchases.

He'll probably never talk to me again, but I'm aces with that. Businesses only get one opportunity to give me a bad experience before I cease further ordering, no matter how important their product may be to my projects.. and I have no problem dropping impromptu reviews of my experiences everywhere I can when a business proves to me that they don't respect their customers. On the internet respect is a joke, but in the real world RESPECT is RESPECT. Either you've got it or you don't. Money changing hands is a REAL-WORLD event, not some web drama.

I like EF's views. I hate the Monopoly...

Don't get this place.

Well, business is business.. I don't fault anyone for making a profit, if Jeff is making a profit. I don't work for free, and I don't expect anyone else to.

The monopoly part, that's OK too if the person running things can cope with the demand, but I don't think that lava's ever been able to. And even that can be lived with if the seller keeps in touch.. but I don't think lava's ever been able to make that happen either. The last time I ordered form him, I waited a month for a reply to my PMs. All of the previous times I bought from him there were very long waits for any sort of communication and the product. He never took money out of my account until the products shipped, which I guess makes everything "OK" in his mind, but if I wanted to stare at my money I wouldn't have tried to buy products from him with it.

There is a demand for a high-speed analog laser driver.. and sooner or later that demand will be filled. I've been talking with a couple of other EE folks that I work closely with at my job about their thoughts and they've expressed a willingness to help in any way they can.. It's looking like it shouldn't be too hard to come up with something that can compete with the flexmod, but we haven't started on a design yet so it's a little early to say how things will go. It's tough to work on personal projects when you've got a kid and 2.5 jobs.

Even if we can't make it happen the way we want, there are others out there that can and will eventually I'd reckon. The Chinese are aware of the demand as well.. and they have a knack for filling demand everywhere they see it.
