WOW! How did I miss this thread?!

No mine doesn't look like that at all but this thread has inspired me to finally transplant my 445 build out of its temp host and put it into the saik. Of course that means desoldering the diode or cutting the leads so i can up the juice from the driver since it was going to be a dual build initially. Oh well that ads to the challenge. I think I'm going to order a couple more of those for a future build and to keep as a flashlight and/or club.

Now where's the action shots of that beauty?

I love the polished look.

Very nice job on that. I just had to share this because I think polished is always the way to go if you can do it.

Here is the engine compartment on my car. (But I had help!)

I bought one of the Kryton Grooves with a silver anodized finish and polished it also. (It's in my avatar - fourth Kryton Groove)

Keep up the great work!

WOW Thats Nice work.:) What kind of car is that.? Looks Powerful. The Groove looks amazing too.:gj:

You want to here something funny Until you pointed out just now that you have 4 Grooves there I would have only thought the 2 in the middle.

The 2 black ones i never noticed till just now.

I though they where blank spaces .

Would like to see some close ups on all of them someday.

It's a Saturn Ion Redline - Same chassis and engine as the Cobalt SS.

2.0l supercharged, plus some toys I've added. (ported polished and blueprinted the supercharger, Stage 2 kit, CAI, high flow exhaust.) It's pretty fast.

It's what I was into before lasers.

The lasers are (left to right)
Green 200mw jayrob kit
Red LCC - daguin build
6x 405 - died recently (have replacement 12x to install)
445 in the polished one (just fixed with anselm clickie - now working again)

I know you've done it on this, but if anyone else wants to try, this is what worked for me. Sanding down to a fine finish with finer and finer sandpaper until I'm about 1000 grit or so and then using a aluminum polish with a buffing wheel or even by hand and alternate from vertical to horizontal each time. If I take my time I can get a mirror finish on aluminum this way. But it needs a clear coat to keep it that way or you have to repolish lightly ocassionally. At least thats been my experience. I use a cordless drill with a buffer on it for the engine.

I use Zoops aluminum polish which always works great. But their clear coat is stupid expensive.
