Because it's my thread. If you don't like my thread, don't post in it. I am not sexist. It was just my thread title. Once again, if someone doesn't like my thread then leave.

It's a public forum, I can post where I wish.

Sexist.

I think the real lesson here is if you have a vehicle that actually has any real value left.. more coverage that the legal minimum is usually not wasted money.. Crap happens. if it didn't, there wouldn't even be a need for insurance, or safety goggles, or any other protective equipment. I had full coverage on my intrepid until it hit 10 years old.. and even now I still have more than just the legal minimum on it.. The delorean also has restoration insurance on it, even though it's in pieces. So it's covered against theft (of the whole or parts) or things like the shop collapsing or other impossible to forsee events..

Yeah I know, it's just insurance is very expensive for me being a 20 year old who also owns 2 crotch rockets and when you live alone. But yes it will be money well
Spent. Because I'm lucky this time. She has offered to pay instead of face legal issues. The estimate from the body shop is ~$4,500

I still have tp pay $400-600 in rental car and weird fees

Get her agreement to pay for damages in writing! And add the "rental car and wierd fees".

That was expected.. i said 4000.. it went far over..

Maybe is worth think to change car, you may get something ok for $5000, into used field.

Also a crashed car will never return like original.

Well, you know better your needs  i just would not give $4500 to a body shop, i would prefer to change car...if i see right in the photos, also suspension and axes are gone...and i bet it is the same for brakes circuit and rotation cyl, front light kit, front light servos.. i think will be $6000 to get the car back like original.

Also Mitsubishi parts are not cheap either.. they are like BMW nah?

Yeah well, it's either she pays or they arrest her, so
I'm sure she will pay

And it's not required of her to pay for my rental car as said by insurance. She has to pay to have my car fixed and back on the road

O yeah and no all mechanical is still fine

Just body damage and alot of it

Oh well, luky that Mitsubishi are well built!

Anyway, i see in the photos the front light kit and front light servos gone.

It is $2000 on a BMW (xeno kit), and i guess a little less than that on a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Man that sucks, and probably a bit scary, too. Since the other driver had no insurance, you might want to retain a lawyer. Liability insurance is a requirement in all 50 states ($25K/$50K, except Florida IIRC).

I got rear-ended (car totaled) while stopped at a red light in rush hour. The road was one lane on each side and the line was 9-10 deep, so the driver was obviously distracted. Luckily I had good insurance and so did the other driver - who admitted fault.

I really wish people would put down the cell phone and just DRIVE.

For what it's worth, I replaced that car with a Mitsubishi Lancer GTS. You have good taste, my friend. I hope you can get this resolved without you footing the bill.

He can hate whatever kind of driver he wants to.

Its hard for people to ignore the statistics though,

while women are generally at fault in more overall accidents- your general fender benders,

men are at fault for more fatal crashes.

Just type "women driving" into youtube lol

I've been lucky and not had a single accident but my understanding of it was that you couldn't lose because of the accident.
Keep the receipts for rental costs, time lost from work, legal costs, etc. If it was because of the accident it was caused by her negligence.
Tell the shop that this is "insurance covered" and you want the chassis inspected including ball joint damage, bumper mount damage, paint cracking from warped panels, even the control arm bushings could take damage from that sort of impact. If you don't get the info now your first sign might be cupping on your tires from something out of line.
Glad you weren't hurt bro but you really need a 1000cc sportbike. Night and day man...Night and day ^_^

When a buddy bought his bike he didn't have a class 6 so I rode it home for him. Just for yucks I wanted to see if I could touch the top end of the throttle (this was after riding for a while to get a feel for the bike) I did and there was no hurry to get on to the brake.
On my cbr954 I have only done it once and it was on the highway, in 6th, doing 140km/h, I went to 220 in the time it took to pass the semi (doing ~120km/h) but it was basically just to say that I did it.
If I tried the same thing in 1st...or 2nd....or 3rd on the 954 I would be upside down.
Don't get me wrong, the 600 is a wonderful machine and if you are riding in it's powerband it is a force to be reckoned with but you are going to want to take a week or two and baby the 1000 before bringing it over 8000rpm ;)
At 3000 it comes into some decent power, at 6 it is a lot of fun, but over 8 it can be enough to make you cream. ^_^
315km/h is my top speed so far and the bike had a little more to give before the rev-limiter ;)

I'd like to know where you heard this, because as far as I know it's 100% not true.

Good luck with your car, I'm just now getting my G5 fixed after the last insurance-less issue....
