Starting now, this thread is no longer about the video itsself, but about whether you have seen the video before.

I've seen laser illusionism before, but not this video specifically.

Well, I guess you can add me to the list of never having seen this before! He has a true talent there. Not sure how he did all of it, but his light saber form is one of a kind:fightin: I was almost expecting Count Dooku himself to show up!

Pretty impressive and well choreographed , im not sure the shirt illusion is so convincing but the 'dance' sequence was good viewing!

I would not of thought to search for this video as as such thank you for sharing it (again it may seem)

Now it's turned into prove KGB wrong because not many of us have seen it before ;)

Oh yeah, I also haven't seen it.

You still don't get it do you...How do you SEARCH for something you didn't know existed? :twak: Im not talking about the guy that posted it, but the people who had no idea this was around. What's wrong with showing it to those who haven't seen it?

--It's always better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one--

A search for "illusionist" came up with a few threads with this laser-illusionist video: http://laserpointerforums.com/search.php?searchid=526774

Thats hilarious, and a little mean... I do find it funny tho I bet if he pulled up a old thread and posted wow thats cool.. he would of gotten

Stop resurrecting Dead Threads!... It's been dead from 2007-2009... Idiot

Oh well. Can't win Ither way.

There is a valid point to be made here. If there is valid\new information on a subject about which a thread has already been created and has since died, is it better to necropost to conclude the issue which was unstated in the thread or to start a new thread with the new info. in it?

And, let's say there was a thread about... idk... everyone's favourite power tools. And i went to off-topic and there was an existing thread about power tools but that had been dead for ages. Better to necropost or make a new one?

And what if your thread dies, but you don't find your answer?

...And what's the reason behind the anti-necromancy attitude the forum seems to possess?
I understand in some situations, it would be silly now to bump a thread about the highest power mass-produced portable blue laser from the days before 445s because the answer NOW would be obvious - DTR's Frankenstien. But in some cases issues are never resolved and people may still want to know the answer and in other cases people may have the information to resolve the issue, but posting a new thread will result in "Use the search bar!" comments and posting in the old one will result in "Necromancy!" comments.

you are the one that doesn't get it... when he found out about the vid, he should have then searched the forum to see if was already posted. duh! it is poor form to waste forum resources on existing stuff. if it is important then it would be stickied. and if ppl want to see laser videos then go to you tube and type in laser videos.

and as ASH says, it is better to bump and old thread than to start a new one.

i'm not saying the op is right or wrong. i am clearly saying the kgb is not out of line for saying the op should have searched before he posted.

@ jai... there isn't any thing wrong with posting in old threads if there is relevance. but necro posting bumps real and more relevant threads lower.

@ krogith, you actually bring up a great point which gives me an idea... i wonder if we should see how receptive the admin is about making a "laser related video section"

^^ hey! They still have yet to implement my "Arguments, Disputes and Unnecessary Fights" section!! I called the next section, stop trying to jump the que!

Seriously though, multimedia section is pretty much pictures and vids. Maybe a traditional "forum" set-up is not really appropriate and it should be more of a gallery.

I guess that could be set up by having lots & lots of stickies with categories people would want to post their pics in. That way they're stored for all to view rather than drifting to the back of a huge quantity of threads and needing thumping. Uhhh... idk what the solution is here. I guess ideally we'd have it not in a posting-in-threads kind of set-up and that way you could search for pictures you wanted, or have them in categories, sort of like what the pictures people upload to their pages are like, only once a category was made everyone could post in it and comment on the pics... and there'd be a "Random image" button (because that's my favourite button in those types of things ;))

A members Photos/videos book, and you could click on tabs for by person and it would pull up all there pics/vids or just look by date or all of them, would be cool and if it was set up like facebook where you can then post comments on each pic/vid, like/dislike
