So i just bought a Hotlights 445nm from DTR and i love it, very solid build and all, however it turns out im not a huge fan of side clicky. I am considering selling it (not to turn a profit) just to make my money back, at least most of it. Im buying a bunch of stuff to start my own builds and it is getting pretty expensive so i figure since i prefer tail clicks ill sell this one and maybe buy ones of DTRs future tail click 445nm builds (unless he now hates me for doing this :))

So now that im done rambling on, is this against forum etiquette? I don't want to do anything that will cause any hostility between DTR and I especially since he was so good with me in the sale. I'd prefer to just keep it if that is the case.

Thoughts?

Usually the only thing that's frowned upon is selling lasers that were sent to you for free for review, if you buy something though its yours and you can sell it or do whatever you like.

@DTR Ah, straight from the man's mouth. Thanks. I only had yobresal's 445nm, which i really liked, and i wanted one of your builds too so i took a chance on the side click. Didnt work out. I will have to start looking for your sales threads again. IMO everyone on this forum should own at least one DTR build :).

Take care

Thanks for input you two

Unfortunately no more sales threads. I may put some kits up in the BST but no more fully assembled units.;)

Theres some liability issues with selling complete lasers so its no surprise so many members here are shying away from it. I would really recommend a kit anyways! Much more fun and depending on how complete the kit is they can be easily assembled in under an hour so its not like your waiting on a long build process. Then when its done you understand how it works in case anything goes wrong in the future.

it's no surprise??!! really.. the only surprise is that members are still selling complete builds at all after mohrenbergs run in with the feds last year. but i guess ppl have to learn on their own.

What do you mean liability issues.

@ DTR aww thats too bad. It will get pretty expensive for you to keep all the lasers you build though wont it?

What do you mean liability issues.

The higher power lasers require safety features that most builds do not include. Also like anything else you sell there can be liability providing certain items to people under 18 etc etc. Im sure there are lots of other issues as well.

Most of us are in the US of A where you can sue someone after breaking into their house and falling down the stairs....so best to error on the side of caution.

Correct. But everyone just marks the form as flashlight when it goes across a border it it always seems to be fine. I'v only been here for a couple months but i would think i would have heard a lot of people talking about it if lasers were being taken away all the time.

People arnt worried about a $100 in parts being seized they are worried about being held responsible for the lasers they have made or being prosecuted for providing dangerous lasers to people etc.
