Mine i got a little bit ago for like 30 dollars..They fit really nice, they have rubber that hug around your eyes so light doesnt come through, they defuse the green. Outside in daylight the world is VEEEERYYYY bright yellow....You can easily see through these glasses, but they do block out my green laser to a dot i can look at on the wall, with no issue. They block my bluray PHR the same amount too. But you're probably right. The changes of getting the IR in a concentrated beam is hard without mirrors..it gets so badly diffracted on most surfaces I usually dont worry.

So far with use of them for etching black plastics, My eyes feel normal. So thats good! My etching is just a bit wiggly :p

Maybe friday I'll get some pictures if I go to the park at night. I live in a area with homes that are close, It would be rather hard beaming it outside without any issues! The park however, no homes are around, and its all woods. This will enable me to do long range beam shots.

Well heres a con...After charging the battery it stopped at 4.28V. I used my laser a LOT friday, and then today, I was just beaming it and the blue LED started to crap out on me and it seriously, died. The blue indicator. Laser is fine. Not surprise because they probably over-power these LEDS and it just...died.

I guess that explains mine arriving dead... Next time I'm definitely getting the non-LED.

Yeah I dont mind it...No point in having a replacement. Just annoying to have a led on it now with no glow :p It glows, but its reaaaaaaally dim. But whatever, the laser works fine. I sent them a email telling them to check it out because I think it's a design flaw...Like if they are doing direct power, no resistors.

In the media section you can see pics of beam/burning with this laser. Pics suck, Working on that.

I'm curious. How does the key work? Do you have to turn it to unlock the laser for use? Or is it just to keep the laser on? I notice it has a momentary style
button that's why I ask.

When you turn the key it puts the laser in ready state. Then you can push the momentary button as you like to activate the beam.

I had to cover the blue status light with electrical tape. It was near blinding.

(Edit. Now that I have my LPM here is the test video 223mW LINK)

I see this thread does not have any beam shots so here are a few with smoke.:eg:

Here it is on the right with my 200mW Focalprice keychain on the left

Here is the dot at 1 foot and 35 feet. No ruler in the house for divergence test.(need to remember to bring one home from work)

I have had this laser for about a month and it is alright. It is bright but I have not had many green lasers to judge it against.

I am not really a fan of the Momentary switch. I prefer a clicky switch.

I am not sure what the power is but I do have a LPM on the way. Will edit with power reading when it gets here.

thats a problem Fayona was telling me as my 50mw flx led just died, the problem is known by the engineers and does NOT affect the laser.

Only after I charge the battery the led will light up then it goes all weird.

How straight is the beam coming out of the appature?
I just got the 150mw version and the beam is really off center.

My 200mW is a little off center but at least the beam is straight. When I rotate it does not look like the angle changes at all.

Cool DTR, I see we have the same problem lol...

I think mines a tad more angled than yours.

You know what they say. You get what you pay for. These are cheap compared to a CNI or other quality brand. But they are still fun.:D

I hear ya DTR, but im a total no0b and just got into the hobbie a month ago.

What's the real difference from the laser I just got to a CNI same rated out-put laser?

An offset beam is different from an angled beam.

An offset beam means that the beam is not in line with the exit aperture. An angled beam means the lens is mounted at an angle to the exit aperture.

An offset beam is still perpendicular to the top of the laser, while an angled beam is not.

Nice, and thank you.

The beam is off set then as you described to me... is that a big deal?

Faona claims its stable at 185mW
