Is anyone else frustrated with CPF? I think I have like 15 or so post there. I say think because as a noob you're stripped all user CP access and can't search for your own posts. I can't start threads or post without it being reviewed by a mod. I can't send a PM to someone on that forum that I want to contact. I get my a$$ kicked for asking questions about DX flashlights... I mean WTH! My threads are either never approved or deleted for no reason. I like flashlights n all but excuse me if I don't want to pay 150 bone for a light that is only slightly brighter than a Ultrafire C1.

Sorry if you go on CPF and are offended but sheesh WTH do you have to do to get your foot in the door over there?! :wtf:

To hell with em.
Worse then I thought over there. Long Live LPF.
Rumor has it there is a new flashlight section somewhere here in LPF land. :D

Something big must have gone down over there at one point. They got some very strict rules on how and what you post.
It's like they are discussing something dangerous like 1W portable lasers or something;)

LOL I might have had something to do with it...Before I did this they only required 2 mod approved posts before you got full access and had much looser rules in general.

I remember being a new member there and getting into an argument with some veteran about how his surefire was a waste of money and how my $50 DX flashlight was about 10x better than it. I ended up getting banned for "trolling" despite doing nothing to warrant a ban.

So....I made a new account on a proxy and totally Fubar'd their forum giving it database errors and whatnot by spamming QUOTE PYRAMIDS LOL. Yes they didn't have any limit on quotes in a post. It took them like 3 days to get to the bottom of it because the threads hit with a quote bomb would just lock up and the mods couldn't even see who did it. Also whenever someone clicked on the crashed threads it gave the forum a database error for like 10 minutes.

This with about 100x more tags is literally what did it.

Well, while what Razako did didn't help (though it is a bit funny) there actions regarding DX flashlights are just too much. A name is just a name, and customer service is great, but in the end, it's a metal tube with an LED in it, nothing more, nothing less.

CPF is a pretty oppressive and nasty forum IMO, their leadership is Orwellian in comparison to over here. Anyone up for sponsoring "Will it Blend? Flashlight edition" and directing CPF's attention towards it? :eg:

Errr, actually, now you come to mention it, yes!

That would be seriously funny.

How could we get that rolling?

Never really herd anything good about CPF, flashlights arn't half as interesting as lasers any ways.

Like xplorer said they're just a host with a free LED lol.

I'd say it's probably not worth the time it would take to earn your stripes over there. Not to mention I feel fairly confident saying that there is most likely FAR more experienced people here in the fields of electronics, optics and physics in general.
