Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$!

Seeing how tough laser diodes (and all diodes for that matter) are I wouldn't mind it if it were wrapped in 1 layer of packing foam and sent in a bubble wrap lined letter.

Laser diodes are very static sensitive, more than other diodes.

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$!

So has the biding ended yet? If I missed it just ignore.
If not, I'll bid $10 the 2nd focus assembly with motors. Or $60 on a whole projector. $12 for an led?
Will edit, need to read though the thread for bids I might be stepping on.

~EDIT~
hmm less bids then I thought I would see. So far this is all I've found.

07-01-2010, 03:08PM #592 kiyoukan
so there are 2 red leds
2 phosphorous wheels.
1 set of combining optics. (i want the other set.)
mirrors and lenses.
So if you want them put a price and i will take the highest price
it will end the same day i am shipping them out to you, that way i can do all the shipping in one day.

1 red led 10$ jmgallego
1 Fluorescent Disc 10$ jmgallego

07-02-2010, 05:18PM #631 BShanahan14rulz
bidding $5 for the circuit board that the diodes and/or LED connect to.

07-03-2010, 09:02PM #646 jmgallego
(1) Knife edge assembly, $5.00

07-04-2010, 01:18AM #656 BShanahan14rulz
I would like to bid $10 for the circuit boards. I think you will find that a member bid $5 on it one page back, but it didn't show on the front page

07-04-2010, 12:39PM #657 psi seeker 34
I bid on the other fluorescent Disc $5.00

07-04-2010, 04:08PM #659 styropyro
I'll bid $15 on the other red LED with heatsink assembly.

07-05-2010, 07:01PM #667 kiyoukan
just to let you know i get a message for 50$ for each projector after the arrays.
So just to let you know if the gutted projectors dont come together to be 50$ he will be listed as the highest bidder.

Today, 12:15AM #672 LarryDFW
I would like to bid $52 for a projector minus the 445 diodes and diode lenses.
Shipping to one location in the U.S.

Today, 08:48AM #677 Tech_Junkie
I'll bid $10 on a focus assembly with motors. $5 on the FS mirrors.

Did I miss anyones bid?

Laser diodes are very static sensitive, more than other diodes.

Living in a sub tropical environment I don't have much problem with static electricity in the warm weather months thanks to the reasonably high humidity grounding out most of the static electricity.

1 red led, 10$ jmgallego
1 Fluorescent Disc, 10$ jmgallego
1 circuit board that diodes and/or LED connect to, $5 BShanahan14rulz
1 set circuit boards, $10 BShanahan14rulz (unless this is instead of diode/led board)
1 Knife edge assembly, $5.00 jmgallego
1 Fluorescent Disc, 5$ psi seeker 34
1 red led (2nd), $15 styropyro
1 whole projector, $52 LarryDFW
1 focus assembly w/ motors, $10 Tech_Junkie
FS mirrors, $5 Tech_Junkie
Also by proxy bid for projector, $50

Rearranging them into whole projectors it looks like LarryDFW will trump at least a couple bids even before my bid.
individual items add up to $55 on the 2nd projector.

Still quite a few parts left. 1 set of combining optics at least. I'll gladly pay $5 if no one else is going to claim them. I'm interested in any left over bits. :san:

I would think that Kiyoukan would announce the close of biding.

I don't recall raising my bid from it's original $5

Not that it's not worth $10.

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$!

the problem is my iron is not esd protected.
its a old weller 40w stick.
so i could but i dont want to risk something that is over 15yrs old on these.
its after 4th of july i think i can find some bottle caps...
as for my supplier of containers here is where i got them
1 1/4 inch Round Plastic Containers, 10pc, Push On Lid: Widget Supply
you get 10 containers for 1.79$
i bought around 56, thats all they had when i placed the order.

These containers could actually induce some static! One way or another I would short the leads before I put in a $5 not withstanding a "$50" diode.
even aluminum foil around the pins should help.
You could even wrap wire around the pins if the wire were super thin (like one stand of a multi-stand wire). That is, if you did not want to heat the didoes with solder.

yes they can cause static, but that is why the lasers are in esd bags that are heat sealed shut, they are air tight i made a bag of water and sat on it.
once they are in the bags it does not matter what container they are in.
i got a diode that was a 50$ diode and it was in a esd bag surrounded by pillow stuffing and its in perfect working condition.
i am just going the extra mile for protection and professionalism.
i have not ended the bidding due to the projector will not be in my hands till 7:30 pm so in about 1 hour.
Ups guy could not find my doorbell so they knocked..... and decided to try again tomorrow, so i arranged a pickup.
also i want to make sure i extract everything in one piece.
My internet has been acting up so i will still try to live web cam it around 8pm est.
once i have each piece extracted i will lay them out and find there new owners with the highest bid write down tier names then package them up and away they will go.
But for me to do this you must be able to beat the people wanting to buy the whole projectors. or else after the arrays come out i will pull one set of combining optics out then i will ship them off.
Also you are paying for shipping. so i will try to weigh each item and give a quote on how much its going to cost me to ship it to you.
small items might be free if they fit with the laser if they need their own package then it will cost more.
i can wrap the pins in tin foil if you wish.

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$!

I was looking at them awhile ago for other containers, completely forgot about them. Thanks.
If hes going to have the diodes in ESD silver bags then in the jars with foam wouldn't shorting the pins not be strictly required. I mean shorting is always better but they don't seem to be at risk with his plan. ESD silver bags would prevent anything from getting through no?
«EDIT»
Your heatsealer sounds a lot better then my junky one. Do you recall where its from or about how much it was?

Looks like LarryDFW and Haloblu trumped my bids... Kiyoukan, please let me know if I owe you. :thanks:

LarryDFW and Haloblu, if you decide to part the Knife edge assembly, please let me know.

THANKS!

Re: *445nm lasers* !diodes 38.50$!

I see I got overbid for a whole projector. If it is not too late I instead bid $15 for a red led with heatsink and $10 for a pair of dichroic filters and lenses. Also interested in any leftovers.
