Laser pest control?

I'm posting from hawaii (first internet in like a week) and I want to say there are geico type geckos crawling all up and down trees! They're really tiny, a lot smaller than a leopard gecko.

Catch a few and ship them to Pitomaca, will you?

Just kidding.
So they are around warm climate part of the world?

^my sister says leopard geckos live in the desert, and there are plenty in tropical countries I think so yeah.

However I can't argue you have a good point... But I don't think he will listen to you, we are all just letters on the screen for him. What good is there in loosing your nerves? We all tried, we can't say we didn't. But further attempts are like :banghead:

The need for response to this type is never ...um ... dead. Maybe some parent w/ a child w/ burning lasers will read this and keep a better eye on them and get them the help they need.
With easy access to the 445s is type of sadistic behavior will only increase.
I work for and with the SPCA and have seen terrible things--Do you think a person who would set a kitten on fire is not also killing other little 'pest' critters if so you are very niave.
Many arsonsist come from this same background-the little animals cannot speak or defend them selves.....but I will never stop...

Wow, hold on, we are on the same side here - I see your point but the guy we are on about does not, and I doubt that the thread will ever get dug out for this kind of info, especially not found by accident by some parent.

Well, now that this thread has been bumped, what is the legality of using lasers on animal abusers? It seems to me like a 1 watt handheld would be perfectly suited for the eyes of an animal abuser. And even if the legality is iffy, it's not like they can pick you out of a lineup any more....:thinking:

It's really nice to see that some of us preach civility while displaying the emotional maturity of a 10-year old.

It's amusing that you accuse me of not listening, but so far nobody in the 4 pages of throwing eggs at me ever noticed that I only entertained the idea of using lasers in this manner and never actually DID it myself.

This is all just starting to ring a bit hypocritical considering the crime you accuse me of committing never actually happened.


Also, just something you might find helpful here, I haven't actually touched any lasers in the past 2 months, so can you really accuse me of not listening? It's like you're telling your kids to "stop doing that" when they've been asleep the past 6 hours and are sleeping even now, all the while never having given any indications that they would be able to hear you speak.


On a final note, I really want to applaud the prime example of civilized humanity that is Mr."Len" I believe it was(if that's hakzaw1). Seriously, there's no sarcasm at all there(seriously).

I've observed these two kinds of behavior in the past, usually with 8 year old children with an attitude problem.

The first is the typical "I KNOW YOU ARE BUT WHAT AM I?!" being screamed out with both hands covering their ears.

The second would be yelling insults at someone after they've left the room.



If nothing else, remember this:
If you wish to criticize someone for their lack of maturity. The first thing you have to do is to demonstrate more maturity than the person you're criticizing.

That crap is messed up real bad, we had some incidents of the local city trash going after cats and dogs, there are some real sickos in the world today. I swear If I caught anyone on or near my property torturing my or any animals, they'd get a mouthfull of deer slugs....

Anyway its nice that you work with the SPCA, with the people around today the animals need all the advocates they can get. Good luck with your work:beer:

I was not so nice to animals as a dumb kid- killed a lot of water snakes- 'cause that is what i saw adults do and although there are none in Ohio- rationalized they were cotton-mouths and I was doing some kind of favor to mankind--WRONG-- fear of and the needless killing of so-called 'Pests' is not instinctual-- it is a learned thing--and more people are bitten while messing w/ snakes than atany other time--

The more factual knowledge we have about animals the more understanding of thier purpose and thier god- given right to exist.

My need to help protect lil critters is Karmic based-- I owe them for my past sins.

btw Geckos have no eyelids-cannot blink,,, that is why they lick them w/ thier tounges-- and why they cannot blink if hit by acccident in the eyes w/ a laser. (must be a prob when sleeping???)

If you want to get a humane laugh shine a green pointer in front of a gecko or anole(chamealon)or other wild lizard and he will try to catch and eat it!!!
