any idea how these work also if you matched the laser will it block it mount 2 in the bumper then every time you wanted to speed switch them on and hey presto gun wont get you ????

They work on the dopler shift method. you would only need one laser and it would need to be pulsed at the right freq for what ever speed you wanted to impress on the laser speed gun.

It's a lot more complicated than that, since you would have to know exactly how the laser guns work to counteract them.

You can buy laser shifting equipment that just gives the gun operator a jam code (no speed). They are legal in most states, illigal in some. My state dosn't use much LIDAR yet, so I haven't got too much worry about it. It is becoming increasingly popular in IL though.

Call me boring, But I found that staying at the speed limit works 100 percent in avoiding tickets, 15 years without one proves it.

Also if you do the math, speeding does not get you there that much faster, if I had a quarter for every fool that ever passed me and then I had to wait behind them at the next stop light, I would almost be rich.

I agree with photonaholic. There's no legitimate reason to speed and avoid getting caught, and if you've got one, you needn't worry about a ticket.

We have millions just like you in Indiana (actually a lot of them will do no more than 5 UNDER the speed limit). Luckily we have paved shoulders, long turning lanes, and the northern part of the state is generally without hills, so passing is pretty easy all over. I hope that when we die (if there is a heaven) we get to see video game style statistics from our entire life. I'd love to see my total driving stats and impact my driving has had on others (how many cuss words have been said etc.)

I enjoy the occasional trip to court for silly things light tail lamps out, the ones they throw out when you show up and it's fixed.

Why? because it's interesting watching all the speeders and rolling stop types getting fined out the wazoo for being ignorant.

Yep, with a squeaky clean license one gets to enjoy deep discounts.

These units have different ways for work, and different pulses lenghts and frequencies for try to "fool" the laser detectors .....

Probably the better solution can be to use stealth painton reflective surfaces, and a hidden detector, so when the detector see them, you have the time to brake, before they read your speed (where instead, with only detectors, when a detector say you that you are pointed, they already have read and recorded your speed).

And this is good also in places like mine, where not only jammers, but also simple detectors are prohibited

They are difficult to counteract really. They work in the near-IR range, but shining some sort of jamming signal back is pretty difficult. You could perhaps coat reflective surfaces with IR absorbing paint - license plates are usually retroreflective and the main source for the measurement.

Here in holland doing so is illegal, as are radar detectors and such, but legislation may vary by country and state on this. Perhaps it is allowed as long as the license plate remains readable by the eye.

It's all a bit quirky in terms of legislation here: A couple of year ago they banned radar detectors (or specifically, having one installed in a motor vehicle), but all satnavs do have alerts for fixed speed camera's as well as locations that are often used by mobile radar or laser gun controls. The newer systems even get data reported by others in realtime... that's all legal, odd, isn't it?

Military insurance rules. My mother's $250,000+ med bill, cost us $11. My dad served in the Air force for 20 years to get that. What she's getting right now would at up to a half million. We're paying a hundred at most. God Bless the USA.
