How Does a Laser Pen Work?

A laser pen is composed of a laser diode, a battery, and possibly a lens. Many laser pointers are red or green lasers, depending on the quality. Red lasers are less powerful than green lasers in terms of intensity, because green lasers operate at higher frequencies, which gives them more energy.
A laser diode is an extremely small electrical component inside the pen. Its function is to take in electricity from the battery of the laser pen and then use that energy to cause many electrons to emit photons of the same wavelength and in the same direction. This allows the photons to reinforce one another, creating a highly intense, highly concentrated beam of light. This process is known as light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation.

There is much misinformation in the above post.

Start by reading the thread at the link in my signature that asks, "Are you are new . . .?"

Peace,
dave

um hmmm, i thiink i saw a few things wrong in there, like the bit about the green laser being more powerfull than red, it would be because of the colour spectrum i believe,
and what was the perpose of this post? to gain rep? to teach us stuff we already know???
cheers

i have to agree... what is the purpose of posting this on the largest laser pointer forum? the vast majority of us would already know this

exactly i think it would just be commen sense? wth i would Neg rep him hheheheh but nar

wtf bowen exactly iu think we know how a laser works but obviosly YOU dont.
Eat your spam dont share it

Thanks I feel so enlightened and a whole lot more educated now.

How do you make it? Verydemotivational.com , submit your own poster.

We posed for sole purpose of creating a demotivational poster :D
