So, I have been away from LPF for over a year. There are those that know me well, and others maybe not so much. Those who know me from the days when only a few people had 1000+ posts, heya!

I am back, however, with another of my group buys!

I will leave it up to you: post what you want me to GB, and I will do it (providing there is proper interest).

Welcome back amk. Would it be possible to get 6X, 8X, or 12X bare diodes? Like without the sled. Or with the sled is good too. Anything 6X or better would be win.

Hell I wouldn't even care about having the whole dang driver! I'm not too picky. Paying a little bit less for a 12X drive is fine by me But unless it's $50-ish, then I'm out....I don't have that kind of money yet. I'm good with some cheap 6, 8, or 12x.

good luck finding any 8-12x sleds. Don't trust what the Chinese sellers tell you either, they don't know what the lasers are actually capable of. The diodes must be tested by yourself.

So I guess we should stay away from sleds and diodes (all blu-rays look the same) and stick with drivers. TigerDirect GB?

Yea, last time I tested the JP 8x's they turned out to be cheap 10mW diodes. This was back in august though...

I'll try and get ahold of this new supplier I have found, and I'll test a couple 6/8/12x's, and decide if they are legit or not.

About drivers: I don't know, I haven't been on for a while, but I know that rckstr makes some nifty and cheap micro drives, You should check with him. It would be a waste of his time and money if I were to try and get a driver GB in here. Correct me if I am wrong. I WAS working on the AMKDrivev2, the micro version of the first AMKDrive GB I did, but when rckstr came out with his splended little device, I dropped that project. =)

Extraction: I can do laser extraction on a case by case basis, but It's not worth it when you are doing a big GB. Stuff happens, other stuff goes wrong, and it delays processing time on my end. Usually with a GB I'd keep it to sleds if I were to do diodes.

So I take it nobody is interested in Reds?

imo Cereal GB will be epic win.

Welcome back AMK...

Another new diode we are seeing hear and there, are the 445nm diodes. So you might ask your suppliers about those as well.

If you find any, see if they have a data sheet with it!

Ok, so Here's a price update:

Long DIE Open cans: $6 each, w/o shipping (prolly gonna be a couple bucks for shipping, so I'm guesstimating around $8 shipped.)

GGW-H20L: $35 Each, and I'm guessing probably around $37 Shipped.

I'm not certain that the 12x's are actually 12x's yet, so I wont give any prices until I am sure and have tested them. Who knows, if Ken or Jay or someone is up for it I can probably send one to them for some additional testing ;D
