I would love to see what this 1 watt could do with a beam expander on it. As it is the divergence isn't the best. I can't complain though considering the price I paid for it.

So that makes two 1W units? Dang.

What's the divergence this one? And out of curiosity, have you checked the divergence on your Viasho unit?

Actually, I sold the two viasho untis I had a while back. All I have now is this 1 and I have not measured the divergence yet.

What brand is this 1W yobresal? EDIT - nvm, I see it's a CNI..

Also, due to the fact that high-powered Chinese lasers have less-than-perfect beams, the divergence will never be quite as good as the lower powered units that provide nearly pure TEM00 output.. Have you measure the divergence on that unit?

Nope I sure haven't I am guessing it is somewhere around 1.7mRad. I should probably check it out though. The beam is weird. There seems to be a very thin diametered intense beam surrounded by a thicker and weaker beam. Almost as if there is a halo around it. Appears to be in TEM00 thought. This is only seen from far distances.

kind of like this:

This is the profile from my 1W CNI. There is a thin-diameter beam in the middle surrounded by a halo of weaker output just as you describe. Not perfect, but not too bad either.. It's nearly impossible to get a good beam out of a simple cavity at these power levels..

Yes, similar to that. I will try to get a shot of mine for comparison.
