You really don't get the fact that some people just can't afford them, do you?

What if I told you I've never seen a yardsale here?

To bad you couldn't find a way to get a full time job, car, and a nice place to live. Maybe one day you'll get your priorities straight and instead of spending your time picking trash, going to yard sales, ect, you could find a full time job. Then you wouldn't need to pick trash anymore.

If you give up the "Smokes" I'll buy you a cup of coffee or two...;)

@T_J... all I was saying is that you really don't need a lot of $$$$$
to learn electronics... There are thousands of defective and used
electronic equipment items thrown away every day... with only a few
defective parts..
They are full of good usable electronic components... Transistors...
Resistors.... Capacitors.... Transformers... etc... and they are FREE
for the taking.... Plus unsoldering those components will add to your
soldering skills in the long run..
When I first got interested in Electronics.. I took apart a TV I found
in the trash and used parts out of it for my experimenting...
(I was only 9 at that time...)

Granted... I don't need to go that route today... but that opportunity
to get cheap Electronic parts is still there..

to all the posts about the black bars on hdtv. Its the actual format of the video, its in 'Letter Box' wide screen format. The black bars are normal.

I started out by dismantling old toys, and playing with the motors, switches, lights and batteries. Later I got into a science summer camp where I learned basic soldering skills, and how to assemble basic circuitry on proto-boards.

After a while I decided to learn how to decode electronic schematics, and after a few trips to a local surplus store where I can get about any electronic component for a few pennies, I built an LED sequencer, and a month later, a DIY 22W amp on a homemade PCB. In all of this, I don't think I even spent a $100...

The main thing is... that if you really want it... it is there for the taking...
It might take a little effort but if the spark is in you... you'll find a way..

I had almost forgotten about all the toys I took apart as well... My dad
was a Janitor part time in an apartment building and I had the pick of all
the broken toys that were thrown out... I think I still have a couple of
those aluminum cased 2 magnet DC Motors lying around here somewhere
in the shop... Ahhhh the good old days...:san:

Haven't gone rock climbing in a month and a half, haven't climbed a mountain since September...that's pretty much my only release from the overall dissatisfaction of having only a couple of friends...I'm pissed off.

Oh yeah. And my one friend hasn't been paying any attention to me because of this douchebag who always treats my brother like shit and then lies about it convincingly enough to make almost anyone take his side.

Hey Mark...
is that because you don't like people in general... or because they don't like you....:crackup:J/K
It is difficult to make GOOD trustworthy friends.. It takes a bit of time...

Me too, but instead of going to science camp, I got a job in an auto repair garage. Not to put anyone down here, but I like getting my hands dirty, and doing hard physical work. Believe it or not but it very rewarding. I'm sure you guys get the same feelings when you see the circuit work, except the physical part. You can only get that by busting your arss 8 hours a day.
