^You're most definitely right Jerry! I don't use them with linear drivers, but that's not really the best advice to give others..

ok I just tried this on my rkcstr driver.. I get a reading of 0.00.. I'm doing it exactly like you said! any thoughts?

You're saying that the LM317 doesn't eat up any current (or a very small amount)? Because when I cranked the pot on the rkcstr all the way up, I got a reading of 440ma. But when measuring it with the test load, I got 390ma. I always thought the LM317 ate up lots of current.

Where are you putting the meter ???? I put it between + on driver and + (red wire) on the battery.

How much is my PHR outputting ?????

It's at 101.5mA using Aixiz Glass lense.
About 100mW ????

A good guess would be from 90-110mW.. the glass lens gives quite a boost in power, but that is a rough guess!

yes.. + on battery to + on driver.. i already have a dummy kit for PHR but im just curious about this method.. still getting 0.00

Weird, it works for me.

Maybe its your meter? lol Perhaps its set to AC not DC???

Is the diode connected to the driver???

no nothing is connected, my meter is fine and is not a cheapy ($200, dads work one!). It was defaniately on DC.. I know what I'm doing but i just can't get a current in the way you explained!..

Hmm. The meter is the only thing between the battery + and driver + right???

Because if those 2 are directly connected, the meter wont give a reading...

yes meter is in series with the battery and driver.. and negative is connected straight to the driver!

get a 1 ohm resistor and use indirect current measurement. Way better.

Does an aixiz glass lens give more power to a phr??????

Yea, from what i've read, its supposed to.

Btw, it doesn't "give it more power", it simply lets more light pass through than the standard acrylic lense.

Yeah, I know that it lets more light pass but I had the feeling glass lenses are only suitable for red diodes... So what percentage of power increase are we talking about?
