So the LOC diode I had in my ehgemus host died the other day. It was set at 390mA, and it lasted about 2 weeks. Since I had another sled sitting here from Hightechdealz, I decided to put it to good use in an extra host I had here. It's the husky host from homedepot. I originally heard about it from Bob_Boyce, and since then I've seen a few builds with it as well.
I'm using a rkcstr driver set at 300mA, and two Juice 3.6V rechargeable CR123's. I wanted to use a flexdrive, but they aren't available at the moment. I have another LPC sled here, and when I get a flexdrive, it's go into one of my ehgemus hosts.
Although I've seen many builds in this host, I haven't seen it with this heatsink yet. It's the 1" heatsink/module that lasers4u sells on ebay. Here's a short list of pro's and cons for the heatsink/module:
Pros:
Cons:
I'm hoping to do a PHR in a black husky host next.
Overall, I like this heatsink. However it's not as cool as those heatsinks that bob has where the aixiz module screws into the heatsink, but it's good for the price.
Here are some pics. That beam shot was the best I could do with my camera.
^See how far back it sits. Kinda a pain, but it works great with the aixiz glass. However I don't think it's going to work with the aixiz 405 for the PHR build.

Pros:
- Module pressed into heatsink
- Diode gets pressed into module
- Great price ($10.99 Buy It Now on eBay)
- Fits nicely in this sized host
- The module and lens only stick out 5mm past the host (although you can't tell in the pics)
- Fits normal aixiz threaded lenses
Cons:
- There's no room behind the module. Meaning that the diode pins actually stick out past the heatsink.
- The diode sits very far back, and you have to use the aixiz glass lens to even be able to focus properly (not a problem for me, because I was using it anyway)
