WTB C-mount for aries

I just picked up an aries -unsure of model I'm thinking its a 50 -150 mw unit
the diode lases dim -but duh its an 808 its pulling around 1 amp -so i take the driver is good heres the problem i can't get a reading on the kenometer only 6 mw
so i take it its dead -so does any one have an affordable c-mount 808 nm for sale 1-1.5 watt let me know
 





The only issue I have with giving you an answer is that I don't know if the Aries requires a FAC lens (fast-axis collimation). If it does require FAC, and you replace the diode with a c-mount that doesn't have a FAC lens then the system won't work properly.. Pics of the present diode would be VERY helpful.
 
well the original is gone wackbag put in one from a spyder 2 it glows but doesnt put out enough to work its from a 400 mw unit so is prolly a 2.5 right ??
 
The FAC issue might be what the problem is here. Also, alignment is a huge issue. Typically before I remove a c-mount diode, I etch its position into the heatsink it is mounted on using a sharp tool. Then when I mount a new diode I can make sure it is in the exact same position so all that is needed is some fine tuning, and sometimes not even that.

What I suspect is the case is either a diode was used that does not meet the collimation requirements of that laser (possibly no FAC lens, or using a FAC lens when none is required), or the new c-mount is not in the right position. Since you're getting a red glow, I would not necessarily think that the diode is dead.

Your meter reading is being taken with the crystal assembly an collimation assemblies in place, right? If so, then you won't get much output directly from the pump diode since most of it will be blocked by the crystals, their mounts, or anything else in the path of the IR beam.

they do its a small block aries ,I think its going to be more trouble than its actually worth laserglow won't respond on repair costs i may have to just put in another module
I was thinkining one of my overpowered aixis tunable 50's that put out 150mw+
they only cost me 50 each shipped

edit Justin just replied so its off for an estimate on repaires

^Glad to see you got it sorted.. I'm actually a little surprised about the diode going out in one of those. If they're actually using underdriven nlight diodes, then the Aries should nearly outlive you. I think that nlight diodes are rated to 20,000 hours or more, at least double what most other diodes are rated.

John, wasn't somebody here selling 3W IR pointers? Maybe you can ask him if he sells individual diodes.

It's the tiny little fiber you see glued in front of the diode. If your diode has a fiber like this, then it has FAC.
