Sorry my pics are so large,

They are a bit..... never mind though....Welcome to the handheld white laser club:) Intresting host there!

I would always go for surefire rechargables, 3.6v each compared to 1.5v for standard AA's

Any chance of a view of the insides? (a smaller one would be good:whistle:)

Rog how much "persuasion" would it take to get you to make me some of the mounts?

Rob--
I'm doing this project with rivets. I found some at the hardware store and they look about right. I just drilled the hole so it goes all the way through. I'm still not sure if they will work but its worth a try.

If they do the trick will you give us chapter and verse on what they are and how you modified them please?
If the rivets are easy to get and mod I will add the info to my tutorial when I can have it on my website (with appropriate acreditation), these are the only parts of the build that need machining, if you have found a workround kudos to you sir!

Ramsey_innovations, very nice! :)

Just to double check...

• Red laser: 650nm, 350mw, long open-can diode
• Blu Ray: 405nm, 100mw, PHR803T
• Green laser: 532nm, 50mw, IR filtered

Did you measure power with a meter? Just curious because I would like to go for a higher power one like yours but I would imagine that the different powers of the individual lasers will make a huge difference in how they would combine to get the yellow, white, etc...

I'll see if it works out. If it does I'll post info on how I did it. There are a few issues with them like the bottom of them are round and I can't seem to drill a strait hole all the way through. From what I've seen it should work out fine but I've barely scratched the surface of this project at this point.

This is post number 600

Thanks for the welcome. Here is a look at the inside from the first test. Basically the same setup with the PHR frame. I am fortunate to have a surplus store nearby which has many parts and equipment from NASA, McDonald Douglas and several other companies and I found some good parts optics and alignment tools. Then I just made a quick mold out of plexi glass and formed some silvered carbon fabric for a case.

I see now why the case lights up, no cover on the optics :) Is this your first laser build?

Actually the laser's optic assembly is covered w/plexi, it was very intentional for it to glow through. No, this is not even close to my first build, but if it were I'd think it to be pretty good myself. I have built 2 x dorcy 350mw 650nm, a 4WATT C-mount IR, 5 x phr's, about a dozen 100mw 670nm, and a 12WATT IR 904nm LDP in a TO-8.

Sorry good sir, but your pictures on pg. 2 seem to have raped my monitor and my 1440x900 resolution.

I'm using a 1024 X 768 resolution and my monitor is still a virgin...

...so where have you and your expertise been all this time?
LPF needs you! :)

Regards rog8811

I work and take 5, 3 credit coarses per semester so I don't get much time to surf forums. I happened to come accross LPF a few times in the past though and thought it might finally be time to join a laser chat group after hobbying around with them for several years. I'm not an expert by any means but my father is a senior electrical engineer for Siemens Westinghouse and formally worked @ Lockheed Martin where he was attributed for the electrical design of the Tomahawk missile. I am excited to be a part of LPF and look foreward to chating. Happy Lasing:)
