Single Mode Diodes Question

Hi guys! Just a quick question. I know DTR sells a 405 single Mode diode, but I was wondering if there's anything above this 405nm that is also single Mode, and under $100 or so, a 532 single Mode would be great. Or 520. Buy any wavelength that's fairly visible will do. Diode power is not such a big deal, anything over 50mw would be great.

532's are DPSS lasers so they don't qualify.
I think the lower power PL450's blues and lower power PL520 greens.
488's and 505 maby.
 
The next highest power single mode diode is likely the LPC836 or the LPC840. They can be driven to 400 mW if you get a particularly efficient one. All the other single mode diodes tend to be limited to ~150 mW. Sharp has several of these in wavelengths from 510nm to 486nm. Great looking beams, but low power.

Can you link me to a sharp 510, and maybe that 486? Or get me a model name, that's would be awesome
 
I can give you part numbers of Sharp diodes that might hit those wavelengths. Figure a 6nm swing in possible wavelength shifts at most. The GH04850B2G are the diodes that might hit 486nm. The Sharp diodes that are ~510nm are actually labeled as 505nm diodes, but all run higher than that. SB147EC91 and SB147EB91 iterations, or the number printed around the diodes window, are among the diodes that will hit 510nm. you will likely have to ask the seller what number is printed around the window to find one of these diodes. DTR had/has some of the 510nm diodes.
 
wow those look great, this build im not focusing on power, i just want the tightest beam/dot at the farthest distance possible. power is not a factor really, simply a pointing laser so im trying to figure out whats best

Using the Sharp diodes you will have to use either the acrylic lens that comes default with any module you buy or the 2 element 520nm AR coated lens that DTR sells. The reason is because they have a rectangular artifact when used with G2 lenses and many other glass lenses. The acrylic lens will mitigate that or better is the 2 element lens from DTR.
 
I have a 510nm running @ 50mw with a DTR G8 and it has awesome divergence, makes a super tight spot in the distant far field and I love the emerald green color.

Yea DPSS is hard to beat but I am looking forward to the coming quantum dot laser diodes which will be able to have gas laser beam quality as I understand it.

This little Osram 510 with DTR G8 is making a spot hundreds of meters away that's tighter than most of my 532's........granted it's not a Gaussian beam but it has a nice sharp beam point.......something on the tree trunk is making a big diffuse glow around the spot likely moisture/frost, it's actually quite small.
