What diode is in the 1.4W 525nm, and what current is it being driven at? Has it been metered on a lpm? I assume the heatsink is aluminum?
Dear, It is NUGM03T, driver 2A softstart 2s and pls see this pic power, heatsink aluminum! Over heat protected

Some diodes have a lens on the diode itself that is less desirable than other lenses we use. These are often "de-canned", which removes the diodes window or lens, but exposes the diode's internals. Care must be taken with these de-canned diodes so that dust or other debris doesnt get on the exposed diode.

I'm reading recommendations not to exceed 1.8A on these diodes. I understand sometimes someone can get away with pushing diodes hard but I prefer to be more cautious. I imagine a soft start is better for driving that high. Great deal though, best luck to you.

Hi Shake,
Yes you are correct the NUGM03 525nm diode is a G Ball lens diode, no focusing possible. You can also take the G Ball lens off and use a G2or similar lens to focus the beam. That will make it an open can diode and yes precaution should be take about particles and dirt getting on the emitters or Poof goes the diode.
As Tung stated he uses the G2 and 3E lenses in two of the build, therefor they are de canned diodes with the G Ball lens taken off.

Thanks Rich, I kinda figured that was the case. I'm not opposed to the practice, was just curious.

Thanhtung, is it possible to turn the current on the driver down to 1.8A?

Hi Tung,
I might be interested by the pocket green or pocket blue.
Do you measure power output with the 3E lens?
does the blue have 3E lens as well?

and might be a newbie question here, but how does those diode support that power in such a small host?
