Sharp GH04W10A2GC 350mW 405nm

I was actually pretty impressed with the divergence of these diodes. I had thought they would be much more divergent. Comparing with the M140 it is about half the line size using a DTR-G-2.

These can be pushed very hard before they drop off. I don't know what kind of life to expect or how they deal with switching when overdriving with higher currents but looks pretty promising.

Great, i had some running at 850ma, life is very good, but they will shorten when running at 1a ,i can see they lost 1.4A to reach 2w, at 900ma 1.4W it was great ,performance is very high ,thank you for update, Please update the sharp 450nm diode too

That’s awesome! I love 405s the BDR I got from you i have probably used it over 100 hours and still works flawlessly! You gonna sell this beauty? :) Are you really hitting over 2W?! Dayyyummmm

Impressive, when I saw the "Sharp 350mW" in the title, I wasn't expecting to see this; a 2+ Watt 405nm with fairly good divergance is going to be a fun diode, hope to see them in your store soon! :)

hah! I was thinking the same, at first I was like eh 350, not bad but then I scrolled down and like WHAT?? I hope to see them also :D

it is a mutilmode diode, maybe i have tested one like same this diode about 2 years ago :)

So, this new diode is a multi-mode diode instead of the single mode BR diodes that you have carried for years. I'm glad to see it have good divergence specs. Thanks, Jordan.

I think they have been around for a few years if they are the same ones junktronics used to sell. I thought they had worse divergence than the M140 so I did not pay much attention. If they can do around 1W with the fairly tight beam I am sure I can get with the DTR-G-8 and pair well with the ACS1500SE buck/boost letting it work with one or two Li-ions. I am happy they mixed up the diodes as I would never have paid any attention to them. I do have four more on hand and will order more for the store.

Here is with the DTR-G-8. Had to get it quick starting smoking the cardboard. This is about 35 feet out same as the ones above. There is a some slight ghosting/aberration due to the minimal threading very slightly crooking the lens. Can't imagine the G-7 if it held on with less . Some teflon should sure this up. Will try and post back up.

I have a few of these. They're great diodes.
I haven't had time to post about them but the summary is:
Excellent divergence for a multimode diode and 1 W is a good setting for longevity.
I have one of these diodes that has been running above that for a while and it's gone from 1.8-1.9 W out to about 1.3 W out with under 2 hours of total run time. I can't say this is generally true for these diodes but this particular one had noticeable degradation.
A diode set to 1 W is rock solid, though.

you've got them for sale now!!! :) I have to say, Sharp is really impressing the laser community with their awesome diodes the past couple of years. an affordable 505, a mind blowing affordable Cyan 488-492, and an affordable powerful Multimode 405. I wonder if we'll eventually see a nice Sharp 610nm or yellow of any wavelength :D I might have to grab of those 405s from you soon, hopefully youll still have them when I do 🤤

I was fortunate in that I was tasked to test many of the new Sharp diodes as they became available to us. I binned many for wavelength and was able to test many for running current and output power, too. I wish we would get a whole new set of wavelengths so I could do it again.

Hopefully we will see some more powerfull 405nm diodes in future.Imagine 5 Watts with divergence of M-140:D.
