The new imalent 1337m throwers (RT35 and RT70) are a nice mix between lumens and candela.

The dx80 is about 24k lumens not 32k. That burn is just photon heat, the LEDs are ambient air cooled 70.2 cool whites and Cree does pretty well with efficiency. I have the DT70 and both it and the DX80 are overspecced. The duty cycle for turbo beats all current Acebeam flooders however.

The new Acebeam X70 has a true 40k lumens but it hasn't released yet. It's actively cooled by 3 fans and is a monster.
Price is around 800USD.

I had that thought myself about a center thrower reflector surrounded by floods, that's a sweet setup, the 3 little fans are really cool.

Site says MSRP 649.00 so discounted later it could become more reasonable, 300.00 is about as much as I would want to spend on a big flashlight, I do expect competition will get the price down in time.

very impressive. Great example of how important optics are and keeping the divergence down.
Wander what COB led there using.

Saw the upgrade. Thanks for posting the vid. That sure is a lotta light. Think you could call that a wall of light. :gj:

Can't wait to see your photos, Bob; I've got the popcorn popping!
I hope you don't get any unannounced visits from the FAA, or any planes trying to land in your backyard. :D

Wow, it looks like they've got upgrades for that monster already, thanks for that link, steve.:yh:

Think I’m going to owe you some popcorn Bowtie. Do you like margarine or butter? :)

Yup,
Bob.. if you have trouble to recharge the batteries, you can always send that "tiny" flashlight over here..

What a swell guy Arctic. Thanks for the offer! Let me think about it a bit. :can: :)

Vinhn got his modded versions to around 2.5km+ throw with some low intensity Oslon Black diodes. (Dont think he sells those versions).

Awesome upgrade! I like his collection of them.

Bob, I hope those batteries you have on charge aren't UltraFires.

What’s wrong with Ultrafires?

Daang! Nice light house my guy.
Just yesterday I finally picked up a TN42 from Thrunite, Have been wanting it for a while now but the price has been holding me back. Now seeing how much you spent on your little toy I don't feel so guilty anymore.

Enjoy your TM 42 watched a bunch of reviews on it, great looking light. :)

Take your time buddy, we know what it's like, we're just kidding with you.
I'm so tempted to look into buying something like this.
I don't have a powerful torch (flashlight).
These look awesome {pardon the pun}.

It’s something I absolutely want to get done, tried a couple of times, but to much city light around, doesn’t do it justice. So I need to find a dark enough night. (And the time).

Ps, As far as the batteries catching fire. It’s just a small fire. :D
