I think it’s a 5.6mm, Probably the 1.6w there was talk about recently, Just might be pushing it a bit harder or an very afficiant one, MM But still great beam specs from what I remember, similar to a M140.

I remember that Sanwu laser. They claimed it was a Hitachi, but it was in fact an Ushio. I would like to find a link for a single diode for sale. If they are anywhere near $300, or even $200, it is not worth it to me. The BDR-209s have a higher power density than these do anyway.

If it's the diode linked above then it is multi mode and typical divergence is 13/42 where as the NDB7875 is typical 14/44 so it's a long way from our beloved single mode 405nm disc burners.

It would look ok in a pointer, but the spot at 100 meters would be a big bar rather than a small spot.

I don't see it being worth the price.

If it's the MM diode linked to then viewed side by side with a BDR-209 on 1 axis it would look a little brighter but rotated a 1/4 turn it would look wider and dimmer.

I really like the look of a 405nm beam, it's so understated, mystic and deep, and the beam quality of the disc burner 405 is so good.

But as a multi mode ribbon I just don't think it would look the same.....now if it was doing 5 watts that would be another story, also that price......just out of curiosity, how many people want to pay 400 dollars for what's basically a 405nm M-140 ?

It would be awesome to see a 2w then a 4w 405nm single mode, that would be a tight little beam and a great balloon popper.

I agree, Red , a 2W+ 405nm single mode would be something to see; a highly divergent MM would really only be impressive when metering it, as you said, the M-140's would be a better way to go for only 5-10% of the cost.
