I just now snapped these pics, its 540 here and not dark yet but will be soon, the diode has held up just fine, I suspect its under driven but cant say for sure, it does make a really tight far field spot, the last pic is at full zoom with my aging little sanyo cam.

It looks plenty bright at night and really reaches out, I love the super tight spot.

My cam is nothing special, it was 100 bucks like 7 years ago or so, I don't even adjust it, just set on AUTO and it runs the white balance up and down, makes it hard to show turning something up because it compensates. Not that I have turned this up, I gave the pot a 1/4 turn after I got it and that's where it's stayed.

Anyway here's a shot 45 min later as the sun is setting.

I just ordered 2 of these. I will post power out when I get them. I have a laserbee power meter.
I want to compare the color to my other direct greens.

^Please do! It may be hard for cameras to capture color difference between direct greens but if these are indeed 510nm there should be a slight color difference between 515/520 greens! :)

The free review unit I got measured just over 9 mW. Enjoy, they're pretty nice little lasers and if if dies you'll have a very nice host for your next build!

I never measured the power of mine, but did measure the wavelength and it was almost right on the money 510nm. By that I mean within 0.5nm.

UPDATE: I have received the laser today and in short words I must say I don't think its 510nm at all lol, it looks much greener than my 520nm, makes me wonder if my 520nm is actually 520nm or not.
Pics were taken in my room and in semi-dark garage.

Came in a nice wrapped box:

Typical nice little branded box:

Typical looking laser pen like usual:

My 520nm:

My 520nm looks bluer on camera than to the eye.

It is a nice laser pen for the price but I am not sure what to think about the wavelength, maybe it is not 510nm and is actually about 520nm, maybe my old 520nm laser is actually 510nm or 505nm, to the eye it is definitely not 532nm, and its definitely greener than my old 520nm. I will take more pics at night. When my Sanwu 505nm comes I will make more comparisons.

Also to Paul: Yes the beam is visible in a lit room when looking down the axis and slightly visible when looking from the side, it is about the same brightness as my 50mw 520nm, its definitely not 5mw.

I tried editing all the pics but idk why they didn't change size, here is the link to all of them: https://imgur.com/a/D9slX
Edit: I think they are fine now :D

^Thanks for showing us! Wouldn't 510 look "greener" then 520 supposedly? I mean 510 is pretty much dead on green, at least according to the website to convert wavelengths to hex codes.

Hm..... :toilet:

That is interestingly confusing lol. :undecided:

You are right about it looking more blue than the 520nm one. Without measuring it you can't know for sure. But, my guess is it is around 510nm and is probably around 50 to 75 mW. It seems to have a nice tight beam. Might have to buy one myself sometime in the next few weeks. :thanks: + rep. :yh:

Based on how the camera pick the colors, I'd say your 520nm is actually closer to 510nm and the laserlands pen is 520nm.
Two of these are on the way to me, I'll post the wavelength measurements once they are here.

I'd like to know the wavelength and power of the pen. I don't need it if it is 520nm and below 50 mW. If you have the LaserLands 520nm 5 mW coming, mine measured 510nm, but haven't gotten around to measuring the power.

Odd. It seems they may have started using a different diode. Either that or your "520" is closer to 505 and this new pen is close to 520. The power output is also very odd seeing how the review units were all close to 5mW with I believe one or two pushing 10mW.
