I'll try to get some good pictures for your gas post. Though I'll leave everything but 604 and 612 to others with better cameras. I will do my best!

I think Osram uses GaN (InGaN ???) semiconductors to make 520nm laser diodes... Osram set for green diode ramp in 2012 mentions them using it in this paragraph: "One of the toughest challenges with the gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor material system used by Osram is to push..." not sure how reliable the source is, but there was a Scientific American article back in April 2009 saying laser manufacturers were looking into m-plane non-polar substrate cuts to get GaN layers to produce a green laser diode... Green Lasers: The Next Innovation in Chip-Based Beams: Scientific American

EDIT: There's also this thread... http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/green-laser-diode-emits-536-nm-79993.html and the article states they used semipolar substrate cuts, as the Scientific American article predicted

I have added a link in the second post to Bloompyle's Gas Laser Thread. Be sure to check it out as it offers good pictures of the various wavelengths available for the HeNe section of gas lasers.

Argon Laser Lines will be added soon.

UPDATE: OP has been updated with pictures courtesy of ZRaffleticket(most of the dot shots) and Arynthya(671nm pics and 561nm pics).

It'd be cool to add 808nm, if one can find a camera that picks it up as we see it... It's officially IR but very visible IMHO.

Good show, Burn. This thread is coming together nicely.

Speaking with MarioMaster on Laserchat, he mentioned having a 10 or 12 line argon, though the PSU went to shat the day after he got it. So he might be able to add some decent argon coverage once he gets it fixed. Also has an air cooled Krypton, so he can contribute that as well.

Sounds great!!! Also I didn't realize laser chat was still active...gonna have to get on sometime.

I am really enjoying putting this thread together, it has become a bit of a personal project to have this look as stellar as possible.

This is just a joke - Your avatar looks like a aviation laser strike evidence that was used to convict someone !

In case you didn't notice you necroposted to a thread that died/has been dead for 4 years.

Very frowned upon on LPF , necroposting

If you are adding useful information, or asking a question related to the thread, I think posting to an old thread is better than creating a new one. Not everyone agrees, but thats what it is to be individual, we don't all see things the same way, a good thing. All of that said, I agree, in this case you didn't add anything to the thread which would warrant bringing up an old one. However, I would have never seen this thread if you hadn't, sometimes a bad thing can be good because I am very interested in page 1 :p

What's the old saying "All things happen for a reason" ? If that's the saying I'm not sure I agree with it ?

But I'm glad something good came of my mistake ! :friend:

This is cool, but where to find a suitable ND:YVO4 crystal? Why can't I do this with ND:YAG, or can I? Maybe this is wrong, I thought a ND:YAG was used for this.

Warning, answering me is quasi-necro posting.

I'll risk the continued necro. :p Different lines for the different crystals. Nd:YAG (1064+1319=589) Nd:YVO4 (1064+1342=594)

Oh you seen that GOLD laser to ?!

Isn't that something else !

I would think that would be pretty bright looking !

I really like that 594nm color !
