I'm gonna start offering some CCBoost RC1 in my builds/modules I have tried to get in touch with RHD with no luck yet, wanted his pemission but I'll be asking again tonight. This is RHD's circuit, I am only building his circuit right now because some of the testing was there and I wanted to improve on it. My circuit is based off an entirely different IC and it is no where near released yet, these take time.

Either way, I've succesfully flowed 3 of these so far with good success and excellent results from these drivers.

I feel they are low-noise (tested on oscilloscope driving a test load) adjustable boost drivers. I have boosted single cell voltage to drive M140 at 1.8A succesfully with a great start-up everytime and a measly 8mA overshoot on fast off-on pulses (I seen no harm here).
It's also available in 2 range's (Low and High) which I will post info on my findings later.. I've only made high range up to 2.4A so far.

Anyway, what i am getting to is if anyone wants to pre-order one to beta test for me, please PM. I will charge 15$ each plus 3$ shipping for only 5 people and you will have a driver as soon as I flow them. The ICs are in from China already so no long waits on these. See pics below and more data to be added later.

15$ is to steep tell me, just figured 10$ less than mainstream drivers for something this quality and I want to use high quality parts and oshpark boards. I am ordering boards now and parts.

Wish I had an extra $20 lying around. Even if I did it would be a month before I could put anything together.

Any interest in selling just the drivers once you are established or will these only be available with your builds/modules?

Unsure right now it just depends how testing goes with builds instead of test loads and how many I can churn out really. I would consider it, and I've also made the same circuit on a 17mm round PCB waiting on rhem to arrive to test.

BTW if you can pay the 15$ in parts I can take shipping later.. I'm only putting this money back into alternate part's and testing of these drivers

Awesome! Great work. I'd love to do some micro builds some time in the future and this would be a great start. Though since I don't solder diodes I would need it in a module, hopefully that could be arranged. How high do you think you can do in terms of current?

Decent price too, by the way. :gj:

Boosts up to 2.4A right now, with pretty decent efficiency it seems as the heat from this driver is minimal. It'd definitely more stable than the benboost since this one is actually constant current.

It's not as tiny as I'd like, it may still have to be external to the module. Don't forget this is open source and you can build it yourself if you can reflow. I will bulk order parts if anyone wants a driver kit to build.

Did a little bit of filing on the excess material from oshparks manufacturing process, these are the measurements after light filing.
Looks like it won't fit directly into a 12mm module backhalf, unless I make a custom one for these... but you could mount them on the back of a diode still... plenty of uses for these. I am making some revised versions as well, the 17mm round are on order waiting on them to arrive.. I will see about "minimizing" these to fit into a module, at the cost of the length of it I believe it can be done.

Also, this driver has two ranges a "Low" and "High" Range with a max of 2.4A and I believe the Low range will max at 1.2A I haven made any in Low to verify that yet, but I will when more arrive.

Also; Lifetime, I will be glad to make you some custom contact boards if you need and they're CHEEP CHEEP! Let me know! any MM is no problem, but obviously the larger the more $$.

I'm interested in a couple of the 17mm. Whats the lowest the low will go? (sounds like broken english about limbo :p)

Can these kick the voltage up enough while delivering 1.8A for a mm green? Or is that not realistic?
Edit: I have a SL 20A test load on its way. I have to research the proper way to set boost drivers, maybe I can emulate a M01T with it and see if I get enough amperage.

I will test for green MMS later on, that is just a higher Vf load to test with. Im guessing you may lose a little amperage having to boost voltage that much.

I got a chance to try out your boost drivers with the m140's. I had an issue with one of them. It may have been my fault the way I was handling it. It seemed to put off more noise than the other one and the mm bands of the diode were fluctuating. The other one is a champ. It does heat up a good bit. I may torture test the working one. I have a 4000mAh lipo to drain. The m140's I recieved are in great condition. Diode windows are spotless. I did some swapping around of drivers and diodes. Put my old a type m140 in a 22mm 510 heatsink with a flex drive. Took the sxd 1.8A from the old diode and put it on the new M type m140 from the bad driver and put that in my SL stainless steel host. I popped both of the LPC 826 diodes. They were running good for a few minutes and then led lol I'm done trying with them that's 4 strikes.
Anyways about the boost drivers. I think they can be used in SL hosts with the pill that has a driver ledge and a heatsink that doesn't go deep into the host. The SL design has the pill ledge going into the back of the extended tapered heatsink. This won't work with the boost driver. It will sit nicely in a MX900. This driver gets HOT and parts are packed onto the board it is crazy. I'm going to turn it up and see what dies first. I'll report back with runtime data if the driver bites it.

What voltage are you running on the driver, and what curernt? Did you alter the driver's current?

If you are hearing noise, you are usually out of spec in either A.) Voltage or B.) Current

If you turn the current up, and have a HIGH Vf diode hooked up to the driver and a battery less than 4.2v it will whine trying to make the current, and the voltage. I have had great luck up to 2.4A with good LG HG2 cells and little to no heat what-so-ever at 4.2v - 3.7v and 1.8A

Guess it all depends!

Also, with the LPC-826 you really need to keep it below 500mA, I offered to send you my drivers made for those; they work great and have a max of 750mA and soft-start for those drivers. It's not a boost, just a simple linear regulator with a pot adjustment on it.
