Analog modulation, code switch, focusing, pulsing, and threading for star caps (also means they will fit the Sanwu 3x expander). It's a single-18650 host but it's recommended to use LiFePO4 18650s. Normal ones will work fine but they have to be able to draw 7A.

One month still!? I was told it'd be ready by the end of the month when I bought my 1w back in June!

I hate the waiting game, but at this point you might as well wait for the new host. The old one has zero safety features, isn't focusable and their 1w+ models have to use 1.5v 18670 batteries, which to some are not easily found. The old host is still nice don't get me wrong, its solid feeling and I think that for most people it will do just fine. But for the people that want all the bells and whistles, definitely wait for the new host! Just have to wait a month..... then another jk lol

The 310 isnt focusable? Its a feature listed

If I was only going for the 150mw do I still need a battery with that high of a discharge rate?

I already have some panasonic 18650's laying around.....would be nice to just use those.

He says between the 15th and 30th of October, but I think we are at the end of the line here. I don't expect any more delays. They are manufacturing samples now.

310 is focusable, but I recommend 311. This is because 310 tends to have an off center beam due to the nature of the module in it.

Panasonics are fine for 150mW. For 1W, you'll need a good 5A battery, 7A for 1.5W. LiFePO4 is ideal but panasonics would work fine for the 1W (with a slightly reduced duty cycle.)

Is the charging pin in the 310 not recommended?

Neither 310 or 311 can be used with a beam expander?

I've never used the charging pin on it, I would recommend just charging your batteries normally.

Both 310 and 311 are compatible with the Sanwu beam expander due to having the same threading.

Ive never used a beam expander - I'm assuming theres a loss of total distance due to the wider beam? Any other disadvantages?

Not sure if its worth it on a 150mw....

Actually with a BE there is a huge gain in terms of total distance. When you expand the beam you reduce the divergence by the expansion factor. At close range it is a bit larger but it stays that size for much longer.

Any other optics I could consider with one of these? Wider beam the better :-D

Re: XPL discussion - "the miracle company"

Very odd that they would require not so common battery sizes or voltages. Really makes no sense to me to go off the beaten path with an odd driver and not use standards like almost all portable lasers need. I personally use some LiFePO4 cells in some of my builds but it's because those builds were built with 532nm modules that were meant for 3.2V. Why deliberately turn people away with non standard things. Does not make good business sense.

I have been using these with the NUB44 without issue
18650 LG INR18650MJ1 3500mAh High Discharge - Batteries - Batteries, Chargers, and PowerPax Carriers
10 amp draw on them is their max continuous rating. Sony has a VTC6 out that is 3000mah and has a 20amp max continuous rating. I have married pairs that i use for vaping and lasing.

The IR diodes they use have a low specific voltage, so it is more efficient to use cells that are closer in voltage. It still works just fine with 3.7V batteries, but the duty cycle will be shortened by just a hair.
