Price drop! Now $110 :(

Hi guys so I had something come up and I need to sell my Spiker.

It is the 1000mW 638nm Spiker Saber
It has a G7 lens and multi-mode driver.
I'm asking $160 (dropped to $120) for this laser.
I have, in no way, modified or tampered with this laser. The only thing I've done is placed the batteries in. It has about 25-30 minutes of use at the very Most.

I will do either paypal option and if you choose business you must pay the fees. I am offering 2 day USPS tracked shipping on it (cost is on me).

I'll add a beam shot when I get home.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to retract my offer. I thought the Saber Style was the one with the fat handle, its not, the Saber has a skinny handle. I'm sorry but I wanted the fat handle one, sorry for the trouble

That's okay, they're easy to mix up.:p

Too bad it's not a single mode driver, otherwise I would probably be interested. By the way, I think since it's used the price should be lowered. Your price point is roughly the same as a new unit from Sanwu, so you'd have to give me a pretty good reason to buy from you then to buy completely new. Nothing wrong with your selling, but just my two cents

Yeah you are right about the price drop. I dropped it down to $130.

Also why do you like the single mode drivers more than multi modes? Just curious cause I have no idea of the pros and cons of each.

Now that's a price, I'd say that'll go fast

I can't really explain why I like single mode better, I guess the best explanation I can give is that multi mode feels like spam. For example I really have no need to flash my laser like a strobe light, or have it at a lower power, or anything like that. If there was some kind of switch to go between single mode and multi mode that would be great. But I would only buy a laser so that I can use it at full power, and none of the other stuff.

Ah I see. With mine I barely ever take it out of full power mode. The only time I do is to put in in low power for my cats or for playing around with different glass, minerals and optics.

Other than that it stays in full power mode %99 percent of the time. It's actually kinda weird to get it to go to the other modes so it usually just stays at full power. I don't fully understand/get how the half clicks and such work.

The reason I like single mode is the divergence is far less compared to multimode diodes which put out a nice beam close-up, but in the distance they become more of a fan of light compared to sigle mode diodes, especially red multimode diodes. Close in it isn't a fan, but point it into the night sky (when no aircraft anywhere to be heard or seen and at least 10 miles from any airport) you won't see a spot, it dilutes out fairly fast into the distance. That said, if there was a way to add a 10X beam expander to that pointer you would then have a much better toy, the fan would be no more, now a beam as far as you can see and then you should be able to easily put spots on clouds as high as 5,000 feet.

The only thing I don't like about single mode diodes is they are low power compared to multimode and you can't fix that, with a multimode you can lower the divergence by expanding the beam, but you aren't getting more power out of a single mode and even if you PBS cube combine the power of two single mode diodes, the output will still be far less than a multimode diode.

Alaskan, they're talking about single-mode versus multi-mode drivers. :D

I'm super tempted. lemme sleep on it and if it's not gone by tomorrow evening I'll take it. i presume it uses two 18650 batteries? do you know what diode it uses?

What is a multimode driver? Something which flashes or sets intensities at different levels? How confusing to call something to do with a pointer the same name as the laser diodes we use.

Confusion is understandable, as these kind of drivers are much more common with flashlights and LEDs. Multi-mode has different current-limiting options, as you said different intensities, strobe effect, and some even have an "SOS" in Morse code. Pretty cool, but a bit impracticable for me as you have to go through all the modes to get to a specific one.

I have a flashlight like that too and the different settings just miff me off because I only want high or low, not a bunch of different settings I must step through to get what I want.
