That's actually better than I expected. Bit too unbalanced imo, but, for someone who's never seen any kind of pj in person, it would probably be impressive enough. Definitely not worth purchasing as combo with delivery not guaranteed, and imo also worthwhile to spend a bit more for maybe a lower powered, but more balanced and capable pj.

I'm curious how safety will be addressed if at all by this laser doc. One reason I'm personally not comfortable running a show, even for friends, with anything that I haven't LPMed beforehand is I'm rather paranoid about someone staring into the beam, and exceeding mpe. Guess we'll see.

So it looks like WickedLasers isn't favorably viewed here -- based on what a cursory reading, they seem to off slightly subpar quality goods often with large delays in providing what they promised.

That said, for someone who is new to personal laser shows and equipment, would this deal be worthwhile at all?

I ask because this looks very appealing to me -- I've already invested a little into LED lighting for my entertainment room and adding in a sound-reactive laser system seems like it could be absolutely amazing. The big draw for me is the sound-reactive kit (which seems to have decent pre-programmed modes with little need for user input) and the fact it is an all-in-one setup.

I tried doing some research on different projectors, but I wasn't too sure what I should be looking for. Basically, is there another similarly priced setup that would be better to invest in over this package, or at the least, a better projector in which I could just pay the $200 for the LaserDock itself?

Thanks in advance for any tips or help!

I'd probably pick the Goldenstar projector I linked earlier over the WL projector. That said, white balance isn't great on that either - although there are ways of adjusting it.

Could you link that once more? I wasn't able to find the post, and searched their website to no avail.

I believe he/she was talking about this projector (click here).

I think I'm going to just try the $400 WL package, in the end, but I have a bit of time before supply runs out to decide fully.

Ok, now it's getting fishy as hell. Just got this.

Due to popular demand, we are now offering an integrated LaserDock system that includes the laser projector for only $199.

It features the same 1W RGB pure-diode laser projector as we previously offered. Simply connect your Mac, PC, or Android device and you're ready to start lasing.
We've dropped the price all the way to our rock-bottom component cost because we want everyone, regardless of their budget, to experience the LaserDock.

Just like Kick Starter, you can't get your money back if you dive in. No recourse.

If something sounds too good to be true...

As much as I would like one of these for $199 there is no way I am putting my money into indigogo for it.

Agreed! This is so fishy. This is my uneducated opinion, but it seems to me that they're 'fishing' for that tipping point to get as much money committed as possible, then drop the ball.

I know WL has been around for a while, but are they trust worthy?

How could they come up with an integrated version of the product in a matter of days, for 1/4 the original price ($800) of both the dongle and the projector?

Not to mention, just 5 days ago they said they couldn't even ship projectors to the USA.

I think I'm out on this one. Shame.

If it were an order through their website, directly to WL it might be worthwhile considering, but given the absolute lack of recourse one would have paying WL through indiegogo, it is not worth the risk. Especially given the low credibility of WL.

Let's not forget that this is the same company that falsely marketed itself for years, censored any dissenting factual opinions on their own forum to the degree that it eventually imploded, and was not above paying people to shill, and giving out products for blatantly fake reviews.

We will find out... they have already reached their first stretch goal. I bet they go beyond their highest stretch goal. It will be really hard for people to resist $200 for it. I am still struggling to keep myself from putting money in it but I think my willpower will be strong on this to stay away.

Hey! My review wasn't fake! :cryyy:

Agreed otherwise though, hard company to trust...

Aww, nobody is bashing that. It's just that we are talking about Crooked Wicked Lasers here!

They don't have to even start production to bag this money they've raised and just pull the plug. No refunds. This company does have a history.

I know no one was bashing me personally, just having a little fun. ;)

Yeah ... not the first time that's happened with one of these crowdfunding sites either. Definitely sketchy when it's WL involved. But ya never know, someone reliable has tested the product out - the controller at least anyway. So we know they do have a functioning product. That's at least a little encouraging.
