You can get the Skyray in an unanodized aluminum also along with a couple other colors

I know I have seen the black with various accent colors as well as gold, did not know about unanodized version. I've always liked the look of those hosts, but to me the host in the video seems to be a bit bigger than the skyray that I have used. Either way I'm going to start looking into getting one now, having (4) 18650 is very appealing to me with some builds that I'm dreaming up!

For the skyray is wanted to do (2) in series and then the (2) sets in parallel. It's kind of the same problem I'm having with the BigBoy host I just bought, really not a problem but need to make up my mind, as it takes (3) 18650s and currently its wired for all (3) in parallel but I'm thinking of going (3) in series to get the higher voltage.
 
I would wire all 4 slots in series and use 3 cells and a dummy cell.

I actually just ordered a dummy the other day for my BigBoy , just in case I wanted to go with a 7-8v setup. It kinda sucks having the extra space and putting a dummy in there as I like the extra run time between charges but gotta do what I gotta do.
 
Why are those dummy cells so expensive? The places I looked at are all at least $7 not including shipping. I hope they are at least heavy.

Just take a pic and video of it being tested on an LPM, file a dispute, and get your money back. Easy way to get free lasers.

I know most business owners cringe at the sound of that.. disputes.. chargebacks.. yuck, I know, I'm a SBO myself.. but at least here in the states we don't worry much about disputes over false advertising. I feel like if you advertise your product a certain way, it should at least meet, or exceed, those specifications.. otherwise you deserve losing that money.
 
Guys look in the comments on that video I called him out and he confessed its 2 watt.

I kinda agree with your viewpoint. If sellers knowingly mislead their customs then they deserve whatever chargebacks or disputes they get. It's not ok for sellers to list lasers as "SUPER POWERFUL 10,000MW LASER" when the laser is nowhere near that.

I wouldn't knowingly buy from them just to screw them with a latter dispute, but I certainly wouldn't feel bad if people did that. The amount of idiocy I see from some laser sellers is simply unreal. They'll advertise using class IV lasers to show off in bars, play with pets or use for a presentation/teaching aid. I hope to God nobody actually buys from them and believes that stuff. I think Sta posted an aliexpress seller who was advertising their product with pictures of lasers getting shined on soccer players. Like WTF?

Well I have one of the "10w/2W" lasers mentioned in this thread.

I have different unit that is anywhere from 500mW-2000mW (I can light candles with it/light paper/etc)

This unit seems more powerful at least double.

Any way for me to poor boy verify laser power? Materials it should cut, ignite, burn, melt, etc.

Also I have both 4.7v-4200mAh and 3.7v-10000 18650s, I'm assuming the 4.7v will give more watts in the beam but not last as long as the 3.7v.

I checked the YouTube video, now that's a proper beast! Also your homemade photos are great, beautiful hosts! Ive turned my own hosts for a 1.2 and 5W blue445. I was a machinist for 12 years, hosts are apprentice level work very easy. I did mine free hand no cnc. I used 7071 aluminum non anodized. Not really open to making for others since I'm not up to mass production. Barstock isnt cheap for 7071. 6061 I'm not sure has different temperature properties but I know it's a little denser...anyway cool post!
