"Customs Clearance" for five days? Should I be worried?

This is an exchange.

Apparently they have some national holiday about to happen, but I thought that it was next week. Maybe they got this entire week off? I know that their government is pretty generous with their holidays.

I'd be a lot more worried if Ava from CNI was answering but Adam wasn't. With both of them falling off of the face of the Earth at the same time, I suspect that something happened. Ava's never left me with more than a 24 hour turn around for a response, and I haven't heard from her in three days, and the last reply was at noon our time, which was especially odd.

Well, I was getting worried about nothing apparently. I just got a text from USPS stating as follows:

Your item cleared customs in CHINA at 11:23 pm on March 30, 2016.

So it was in China, but awaiting customs clearance. Hopefully DL will have it soon!

I've only sent something back to China twice, and both times were a huge pain. Lost tracking on them both and it was months before I was refunded. Hope you have better luck than I did.

Woke up this morning to an email from Adam stating that the laser had arrived. The new laser should be on its way to me next week!

That'd be awesome!

Though if I'm being completely honest, I think I'd be happier with a laser thats rock steady at 52mW after being warmed up, and which has a clean, near tem00 beam with low divergence.

Though of course all of that WITH 100mW would be SUPER! :D

Well, after much back and forth with Adam about what I expected in a laser, my new unit shipped out from China on the 9th and cleared customs today. The expected delivery is the 12th.

Getting good advice requires that we know (at least a general) location of the OP==what is there makes no sense and he may as well leave that blank altogether--

about shipping to China-never go for the cheap ...use express NOT for the quicker shipping (only) but for a less chance of the package being opened. Also, if a shady seller wants to scam and say it never arrived you have more recourse, like proof of delivery etc.

Sorry to go off topic but his location and name do make some but little sense. His name implies that he is in Mexico on the Yucatan peninsula, not in the U.S. There is a town there called Chicxulub, this where a huge asteroid at least 6 miles wide struck the earth, the remains of the crater is mostly underwater and it is called the Chicxulub crater. His location suggests that he is a time traveler.
The date of the impact, coincides with the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary (K–Pg boundary), 66 million years ago.

The replacement got here today. It is a 50mW model with a perfect TEM00 beam and which stays over 50mW for pretty much exactly a minute.

I'll have a proper review in a week or so after I've had more time to handle the laser.
