This is a very late review but as they say better late than never :D
I missed a chance to buy one of blu-ray on sale which is a bargain however Flaminpyro told me that he can build one for me.

I had several lasers but I always keep only one and play with it so it has to be a small host. Green is the color to go as it is the first visible beam and as we know our eyes color sensitivity tops at green.

After lasers spread all over the world idiots also have them and point them to airplanes. Now we all are target of people who are not aware of laser enthusiast and think we all use lasers only to point at planes.

I choose the color purple(405nm) as it is being cheap, powerful enough, best focused at far distances and have less visible beam :eg:

This is a 16X laser. As I am not power hungry this is a perfect choice. I achieved to light a match at 6 meters. It stings your hand easily even from 5 meters.

Size: 83mm x 23mm
Battery: 16340
Duty cycle: Not unlimited but not even get warm in 60 seconds
Heatsink: Copper
Lens: 3 element glass lens
Built by: Flaminpyro
Shape: Round(means it rolls when you put on its side)
Driver: X-boost
Current: 500mA
Power: 504mW
On/off: Tail switch
Mode: Single mode
Tail stand: Can tail stand

Some beam photos :san:

Hi,
WOW sub mini build awesome job pocket material i say. That diode is little mean burner with a G2 lens. Love it my man great job Kudos to you enjoy ,i sure did..

Rich:)

Very nice review they are always better with pictures and the more the better +5
Pyro..

Did anyone watch this video?
No comment about a match lighting from 180cm without fixing the laser !! :na:
Can anyone challenge that match light with a laser that is not fixed (resting on a table, fixed with a tripod or else) only using you hands :D
Sure you can support with a table, chair or else

NICE.
I Love the 405, I wish all our diodes had it's divergence/emitter size.
Could you imagine 6.5 watts with that divergence/emitter size?

Do you know anyone tested the divergence of 520nm diodes?
I want a green without a focusing part like old days :) Our 100mW green dpss pointers. We were popping 20 balloons in a line

the divergence of high power green like NDG700 series have horrible divergence.
but single mode green diodes are good burner and have better divergence than dpss.
i'm in the making of comparison in burning power of wavelengths. all single mode (405,445,532,520,635,660) and all are 100mw vs 100 black balloons!!!(600 balloons to pop).

Looking forward to you to finish that comparison. If you can, just add divergence photos too
:worthy:

What about NDG7475 ? Is it olsa have a bad divergence?

the divergence of NDG7475 is not that bad for a multi-mode.. the dot size is close to that of the popular M140 diodes.... u just gave me a good idea. may be i'll add a video of multi-mode laser comparison a long with single mode.

As we call them pointers there made to point not popping balloons or lighting matches :D
However it is much fun to do these.
When I think of 2 mRad divergence it is ok at 200 meters. At 200m dot diameter is 20cm. Which is about a hand size. When you think of burning it means having 12mm dot at 6m which costs lots of power loss.

A dream laser is a zero mRad one.;)

I use laser goggles while taking a photo for divergence or you can use anything black to be able to capture the most bright point of the dot.

I am sure 405nm will win because of wavelength :san:

Nice small build. Is the output based on the 3-element or a G-2?
+REP
+REP to Pyro for the build;)

+7 on an excellent review , and little powerhouse of a build.

It is 3 element lens. I also add the type of lens on my review
I prefer divergence against power
Thanks for the +REP :friend:
