you can send it to a trusted member for them to LPM it for you:) most of them do it free, you'd just have to pay for shipping.

I feel your pain. I bought a "400mw" green laser for about $100 from another chinese site and I'm trying to go through PayPal to get a refund now as they sent me a <100mw piece of garbage.

I can imagine life in china. You go to the market and buy an apple, only to find it's filled with styrofoam.

At least the Chinese are still trying to buy food like apples. They're doing a whole hell of a lot better than us westerners, who go to the market trying to buy "apple flavored snack product", only to find it filled with sodium stearoyl lactylate, titanium dioxide, and a whole bucketload of corn syrup.

It's much more likely that apple in China is filled with melamine, but Styrofoam!

The crap was killing cats and dogs left and right in the US because some imported crap was cut with it. Not to mention the tainted milk / formula back a few years ago in China.

Honestly, I don't believe snoutke deserved a partial refund. You should know by now, having been on the forums since Nov 2010 apparently, that this laser wasn't going to be even close to 200mW, especially at the $50 price tag. I believe it is rather unjust that you walked away with a >100mW for just $10 "and a lot of hassle". Your "hassling" was just time wasted for both sides, and your lucky that you were so much of an annoying customer, that they decided to just give you what you wanted rather than ignoring you.

Edit: And even price isn't a good determining factor. Do I believe this $350 laser is truly 400mW of green?: http://www.yourlasers.com/product/4...um-case--safety-goggles-set-(1-x-18650)-65833

No, I wouldn't be too surprised if it were merely 200mW of 532nm + some IR. The only way you could fully trust high power lasers is by buying from a TRUSTED source. That's why we have this review section in the first place.

Even the trusted sources are now becoming suspect...take my recent purchase of a $341 Firedragon 500mw+ green in the recent GB from Lasersman. Wasn't even close to 500mw and it was basically a POS in every other respect. It came with a cross threaded tail cap, loose spring that eventually broke inside, and a screwed up switch. I am still under dispute with them with my credit card company. They have been anything but helpful and far from willing to follow their stated policies. I am untrusting of ANY company who won't take PayPal, period. PayPal will stick it to them if they don't do as advertised and companies who do crappy business can't keep their doors open if they use PayPal due to the chargebacks they will get. So, I have added Lasersman AKA Dino Direct to the black list of Chinese companies who aren't worth taking a second look at. I think it's fair to say there are way more shady laser sellers from China than reputable ones, you must be very careful and always suspicious when doing business with any of then IMO. You basically will always get what you pay for and sometimes you won't even get that...just my two cents...

^^^Laserman/DD was NEVER a "trusted" source for anything except the 300mW firedragons. (Even that was a gamble imo.)

Also I'll take the ability to do a charge back via credit card vs paypal.

I can't disagree more.
The swine's are making a nice profit selling laser with blatantly dishonest claims.

Barring any public agency to keep an eye on them the only way to stop it is either private litigation or people like us to cut into their profits with LPMs.

For new people reading this thread: Just don't buy from "http://www.yourlasers.com/". I placed an order 4 months ago. Didn't receive anything and no feedback from them After 2-3 weeks.
Sent them emails with no answer. That was the time I realized I was scammed!

Guys, please, please, please, keep your eye on your orders. If 30 days have passed and you have nothing, open a dispute, and DO NOT CLOSE IT, no matter what you hear from the seller until you either have what you ordered, or your money back.

I was nipped by a China seller claiming 200mw output for a 532nm laser, the price was 59 dollars for just the module. I thought the price was cheap for that amount of power, but it was from China where they pay their help beans, so I thought maybe it would be 150mw. Nope! 100mw which 25% of that power was IR, ripped again. I gave neg feed back that it wasn't 200mw and they altered their listing to show it at 150mw for 59 dollars and now 52, still a lie.

Don't buy this unless you understand it is 100mw or less. When you buy it and find they overspec'd the device they will offer you the other half of the lens assembly to make up for it, still not worth the price. This is the laser without the collimation lens assy which screws on the end after the expander lens, the photo with the big aluminum ring makes it look big, it's tiny:

IF I had paid more attention to the driver board, I would have seen it wasn't enough to handle a 200mw output 532nm laser. Since then, I don't buy lasers from China sellers with the exception of Techhood who I've never had any disappointments with. http://www.ebay.com/usr/techhood?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

I would also like to add this seller:
gome668 on eBay

I bought a 405nm "5mW" eBay pen from him. I sent him a couple messages about tracking etc.. and he was on top of things, always replying to everything I sent him. Not only were his prices extremely cheap($3) but the one I received is extremely over-spec, I don't have an LPM but I could see the beam inside my house if that's anything to go by :wtf:
