WOW!, I had one that lasted 1 min on 12v before it left with quite a good bang :)

I reckon the supply will die before the diode :p

^haha I'm curious to find out!

Its nice to see that those red modules are pretty robust. I wouldn't have thought they'd make it past 5k hours but we're almost double that! Amazing!

I have about 20 of these things. pretty neat to play with, when you burn one out you never really lost anything.

My guess would be 20,000 hours

Not necessarily. This laser isn't really being abused. As long as you run a laser at its recommend specs, it should run for thousands of hours.

22,631 hours of continuous light. That's 2 years and 7 months. Why won't this thing die!? DJNY's is the only guess that is still hasn't come to pass i think.

Wow, that's amazing. I wonder if it'll go as long as Styro's did.
Why won't this thing die!?
This may be the first time I've ever seen someone on this forum call for the death of a laser.

What a brilliant test, my bet 26,000 hours before it finally dies (like you want :D).

The thing is, i hope it lives for many years. But I need it in a spot I see everyday so i know when it dies. The problem is, it's taking up a valuable plug next to the sink. Is it too much to ask to run the juicer and have the scentsy plugged in at the same time! ?

As mentioned in a previous post. Let's not under appreciate the phone charger that was several years old before this test and has been running as long as the diode. The only exception is when we moved and it was on the battery pack.

27,764 hours and still looks as bright as day one. OP updated. We've now ticked past 3 years by 2 months! Every now and then I point it at a wall across the room in amazement. I can't believe it's still going. DJNY, we've now exceeded your prediction. Predictions are now open again, who wants to take a SWAG at it?
