Nice pics!!! Anybody looking for a cheap DSLR to keep your laser funds available should check out the nikon D3100 at a best buy. I work there so that is where I know to get one. They are offering the D3100(reg price: 499.99), plus an extra 55-200mm Telephoto Lens(typically like 200 bucks) all for 400 dollars as a bundle. The reason for this is that it is an older model, but it takes nice pics.

If you have a little extra to spend and want the best quality/dollar, check out the D5200 which is what Brucemir uses. It takes pics at 24.1MP as opposed to the D3100's 14.1MP. It also has a bigger sensor, better color depth and sensitivity, and more controls. It also allows the use of a wireless remote.

Okay, just wanted to give the people who were asking my 2 cents. Back to the OP, I really like the beam visibility in those pics. To be able to show off the beam with the morning light out is a really cool thing. I love it when beams show up in daytime photographs.

I do all my photo editing in MS Paint. All I do is crop the image to remove unwanted items and generally get the subject(s) located properly, i.e. conforming to the "rule of thirds" and whatnot. I make sure to keep the final aspect ratio at 4:3, then I resize to 800x600. This seems to make for neatly composed images.

Cropping the image also means that more detail remains after the resizing, since the reduction factor will be less.

Thanks for the tip! :thanks:

I generally use paint or GIMP. I prefer GIMP however, as it's a more advanced tool than Paint for photo editing. Although sometimes it annoys me to no end, not being able to figure out how to perform simple tasks on it. I used to use Photoshop for everything back when I was making signatures and banners for people, but the free version decided it didn't want to be free anymore.

That's actually the sun setting, not rising. West Coast. :p

I think the sun rises over the ocean rather than sets in the East Coast, right?

And yeah, I do really need to get a camera. Or at minimum, a phone with a real camera. The camera on my current phone just takes blurry and cruddy pics.

Thanks for the view, and positive reply!

Update on my Review: I'm STILL waiting for my friend to record the burning video. At this point, I'm thinking I'll wait 'til February 8th before posting the review. On February 7th I'll be visiting Flaminpyro's home and he's willing to meter it for me. So I can add meter results to the already huge amount of things I have for the review.

This WILL NOT be a short and sweet review. This will be loaded with media and information on everything I can possibly say about it.

At the moment I'm expecting to have 52 IMAGES, and 2 VIDEOS!

And on that note, that's a ton of media. Does the forum even allow that many images embedded in to 1 post?
