Anyway, on to today's find:

How about a diamond, being suspended in a vacuum with a beautiful high-powered laser? I'm guessing a high-output 532nm.

I'll link to an article or this experiment, if I can come across it.

Would like to add the classic picture of the astronomy use of laser pointing stars system. Certainly used and mentioned in a few threads throughout the forum, but this thread deserves to have it added.

Most observatories you see pics of using lasers are for theyr adaptive optics to minimize atmospheric turbulence in theyr images
