OMG...somebody tell me what this is!

It's a light saber hilt (complete)... I would link a forum site for these, but that would be in poor taste and against the rules.

I will state that they are very serious about there builds and they have some good stuff in their store front.

That is what the interior of a Sith lightsaber looks like. Probably a really really good replica built by somebody. By the way, the hilts on the lightsabers in the original starwars movies were made from Graflex Camera Flashes and other camera parts as it was a low(ish) budget movie.

Shopped. If it isn't shopped then it is one of those fiberglass blades that are packed with LED's and you just hook them up to a power source.

No it not shopped and of course it's not a real lasersaber. Pm me I'll send you the link to the site or google it on your own very appealing site for us light freaks freaks of light what'ev.

Yeah light sabers are nice.... too bad that the real cool ones cost a fortune..... oh well lasers aren't cheap....

Yeah, I figured it was shopped or tubed. Too good to be true..

Great eye candy though...I'll stick w/ coherent photons.

Feel free to post the link.

Its optoelectronically related so its all good.

If anybody wants to know, the lightsaber hilt in the OP is a replica of a saber used by Starkiller, protagonist of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed games.

One of exeptionally rare Star Wars games worth playing.

It's very cool..and I don't suppose it's any more silly than what we're spending our money on...

If only it were real :(

A pet peeve of mine, is the highly inconsistent nature of the performance of the lightsabers in both the movies and books.

@TWarne - post the link. I'm curious how much a replica like that would run.

Personally, I am thinking that any hobby someone is passionate about has merit...well within reason. But if I were to argue that ours was less silly I could argue that Lasers are technology, and thereby a less silly hobby. Of course, that will hold water just about as well as strainer when you look at how we dress up our toys and burn stuff with them...
