How to make a red laser pointer burn things

Use an external lens, make the power density smaller. You can turn up the current to your diode with the potentiometer only if it can handle the extra current. I wouldn't recommend it though, it's likely to kill your laser.

Eishen, what you may want to do is called "Pot modding" and long story short, it's pretty much CPU overclocking's retarded brother.

DO NOT try to "make normal laser pointer burn". You'll just end up without a laser pointer at all. Either buy or make a laser that's designed to have high output power from the start.

I have tried to make a key chain laser pointer burn.then it really breaks things I found that my modification to the laser pointer makes the laser pointer breaks itself

Later i buy a same one then realised that a laser pointer like that would never burn anything.so i gave up and keep playing with sunlights.
