I got one hell of an ass beating for that one....

it wasn't intentional, i was hiding under the bed playing with a lighter, and poof went a string that was hanging.
My brother woke up cause the bed was smoldering. It poofed into flames right as my father was pulling it outside.

Ammost ignited my entire garage while aligning my laser cutter. Some nice burn marks in the brick wall that's for sure. Just lucky it wasn't the plasterboard on the other side :p

I had an interesting accidental fire moment. I was on the John, and took the laser out of my pocket and started burning a toilet paper roll that was under the sink. I ran the laser till it got warm and stopped the lasing but the roll continued smoking, I would have rubbed it out but it was just out of reach. About 5 seconds later it started smoking a lot and I could see the flame.
I would never bring my lasers to the bathroom. Too afraid to get them wet. Also, bathrooms tend to have mirrors, and I'm a strict observer of Niven's second Known Space law, except when using optical media (who gets the reference? :D ).

Lasers can be surprisingly resistant to water. I have an SL host that I fell into water (not in the bathroom) and was submerged for a good 3 seconds before I fished it out. Between the o-rings and the lens's spring tension no water got into the host, suffered no damage. :D

That 'saying' doesn't make any logical sense. Care to explain? :)

Well... a bad male dancer will blame his balls for getting in the way.

You're blaming mirrors, and reflections for being dumb.

Reflections are neither dumb, nor smart. They just are. Which means that it's you, the operator who is...

There's a huge difference between stupidity and ignorance. I didn't know mirrors are dangerous for lasers. Now I do. Lesson learned. Calling me stupid won't make you any more of a man, especially given the circumstances.

I suppose all humans are stupid for burning themselves on a hot plate without knowing it would be hot? :thanks:

Mistakes don't make people stupid! They make us human!

I didn't call you stupid. Nor did I call you dumb. You asked me to explain to you the saying. I did. Now you're prissy about it.

That's also kind of...

You insisted upon it. Believe me, I can read between the lines like many others here.

Insisted upon what exactly? Just related a saying I think was appropriate given your actions, and where you chose to place blame.

I am glad you can read...

Made it more obvious for ya.

And on a side note; I'm out, don't have time to deal with this stupid stuff. Although, stuff isn't dumb, nor smart. It just is. Which means that it's you, who is...

Success! It only took a few posts but you finally got it. Congratulations! You CAN learn. Though I don't see how your statement relates... I wasn't the one pointing a laser in a mirror after all.

(Likewise highlighted it for you :shhh:)
