They are A-140 projector diodes... They are multimode. They make a line instead of a dot, but who cares?? Because they are very powerful, and cheap for the power...

You can get them form daguin or DTR. Both have the option of pre-mounting them in AixiZ modules with lead wires soldered on.

People are pushing them to 1.8 Amps - 2 Watts with 405-G-1 glass lens if you get a high efficiency one.

But the norm, is 1.5 Amps maxed out FlexDrive with an AixiZ 445 glass lens - 1.3 Watts.

See here for lens comparisons with these 445 diodes:

Hello, I'd like to order two kits to mount DTR's 300 Red and 445 blue. Tks

Let me know what I need to do. I'd like them as complete as possible. From DTR I would need the diodes in a case with leads and g2 lens correct?

The Stainless Steel 18650 kit arrived today! It's the perfect home for my lonely 12x diode. Shipping was unbelievably fast after the short wait for the kit to be built (backlogs = good business). It was well worth the wait.

Jayrob recommended the copper heatsink. It turned out to be a good choice. The copper heatsink and SS housing give this build an unbelieveably solid feel.

With the driver set to 390mA, this unit delivers 563mW of stable 405nm power. After two minutes, the power drops slightly to 561mW. I'd reckon the build keeps the diode cool and happy.

Another great host by Jayrob makes another enjoyable laser. I'll try to take pictures over the weekend for a more proper review.

Glad your build went well...

Wow nice output power - high efficiency diode!

Thanks! Even the soldering job I did was uncharacteristically good. It doesn't look like I soldered it. :p

BTW - Diode from DTR, 405-G-1 lens from Jayrob.

My origonal 445nm build is still working strong after nearly 2 years, that too was a Jayrob 18650 kit.

Cant go wrong.

this looks like an awesome host! i do have a question. i have a 2W 445 nm blue diode, G-2 lens, and 1.8 X-drive and a copper module, other than the heatsink host and battery (witch i would like to purchase with this), what else do i need?

With an X-Drive, you will need to use 2 X Li-Ion cells for the supply. So in this host, you can use 2 X RCR123 batteries. I would recommend these ones:
AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery

Your going to have approximately 30 minutes between charges...

For larger capacity/larger heatsink, etc... Check out my Mag kit:

Just send me a PM with the list of options you would like with the kit, I'll also give you links to the proper eye protection, dodes, etc...
