To see the beam it needs tO be dark.

If you don't want the laser to burn, then avoid 405nm violets. Greens around 5mW-50mW is visible at night and won't burn.

Any green at least 5mw and don't go higher then 50-70mw if you don't want to burn. But be carefull the green 30mw+ are extremely bright.

20-50 mW green will do fine forget 405 they SUCK !

Not very feasible. Start with a 5mW green, and go from there.
