I have recently ordered a 150mw version of this laser. I think based on harry's account, I'm going to cancel that order. No way I'm doing business with shady crap like that.

I'm a tad skeptical in this situation, some things just don't add up. If there is an issue it's generally addressed in the companies or occasionally feedback section of the forum... just the fact that it's been copy/pasted repeatedly makes me rather suspicious.

Already asked him several questions in another thread.

Consider though the number of positive reviews, vs negative. Max just isn't the type to "scam" someone over a hundred bucks.

Thanks for sharing your 1W 445 buying experience in my 30mW 532 review...

Yeah... already left him a note about that.

at least some more people know about it now

i've sent proof as well

maybe a couple of hundred bucks isn't much to you. but it's also the way to get ripped off, that is more the issue

No $135 is not chump change imo.

I'm all for revealing these kinds of situations with any company, I'm just not a fan of spam.

Also as I posted in the other thread... lazerer has never had a $2 insurance option AFAIK. Only tracking, and even that is often lousy.

If you were promised insurance, then yes you mislead, but for $2 it seems strange.

Insured shipping options are usually quite a bit more expensive.

that's what the website said, and isn't that exactly the point when you ship items for $100 or more. because you know it might get stolen or damaged

ps
they ship everything in an envelop : very easy to feel whats inside and easy to damage. also requested a box, which is more secure and discreet, but max didn't think that was a good idea

don't want to be negative, but something is wrong when people are saying don't worry, i'll take care of it, then it goes wrong and they say, not my problem, sorry

it's just $135 gone and trying to warn people in advance

I'm done carrying on a two thread conversation that's not headed anywhere.

You're looking to yell, cry and scream instead of dealing with the situation to salvage it as best as possible.

You had 45 days to file a dispute, you didn't. Your mistake. Live, learn, move on.

Yep. That's pretty much all there is to it. That's the first thing that I would have done after getting a package with a hole in it and not getting the desired response out of Max.

What you guys don´t realize is that it´s not the fault of a company if a item gets lost or is taken by the customs. Especially lasers are not allowed in a lot of countries, so if someone orders one, he must be aware of the local laws and the risk it might be taken by the customs.

How about if you would be selling lasers all over the world and all the people who didn´t care about their local laws want to be refunded because the customs has taken their laser?

The same with getting lost. Don´t know where you are living but in a lot of countries there are also laws about whos risk this is and they clearly say its the customers risk, not the risk of the given company you purchased your item from.

Finally. If you have a problem regarding a company, don´t hijack a threat but start a new one.

This is not something I considered. If the laser was confiscated, Lazerer is completely not at fault... just checked on their polices last night, and I know that policy hasn't changed.

It was also not directed to you Infinitus ;) But regarding getting lost there are a lot of national and interantional laws where the risk of getting lost goes over to the customer as soon as the item is being given to the post company that has to ship it to the customer.

So the policities of laserer and many other comanies are matching such laws.

You made the point. He could make a dispute but didn´t.

Also. Whe the hell is accepting an insured package? It´s obvious it wasn´t Max who insured it. a non accepted package would come back to the sender and the company who had to ship and care on it would have to refund him and so he the customer who for legal reason didn´t accept such a package.

but, sometimes you refund even if it's a little bit to show good faith. good business. so the customer can decide to re-purchase. especially if it was insured. no way is he saying he will insure it all this time. that's the problem

max conned me and ripped me off

Oh I know. I just didn't even consider that the laser might have been confiscated as opposed to stolen.

I don't know what the delivery policies are in europe, but in in the US, with the most common carrier, USPS, there are MANY different options for tracking and confirmation.

Most commonly items are sent via priority with delivery confirmation, but these are not in any way insured, and can be left by mailmen at the door...

Even insured packages can be left if they are insured for less than $200.

I have no idea what happens if an insured package is left, and is then stolen, but shows as delivered according to tracking.

This part is not directed to you Honeyx, but in general. Considering the murky situation, offering 50% off and a $10 refund is a show of good faith.

there's no refund and re-ordering even 90% off will give no guarantees.
ebay does!
why aren't they on ebay?
never got ripped-off there before. i ordered a lot from hongkong over there.
i new i was taking a risk. just didn't think i would get conned like this.

a refund is a sign of good faith or to propose a fully insured delivery, to just re-order and do it all over isn't.

max should have told this in advance, not after

it doesn't look like it got conviscated, it would have shown with the customs clearance. envelop was torn apart.

Ebay is a totally different story, so don´t compare Ebay rules to international laws. Especially purchasing lasers is always a very risky task and you can´t ask always for a refund for certain reasons. For example you know all the companies lable it as a flashlight that just costs about $20, even if you really paid $200. You also know why they are doing this, so you are taking the risk.

If I were him I also would just refund any malfunktion of the laser you purchased from me, but not in such a case where the package was insured and you accepted this.

I understand you are pissed, but you knew what you had to risk and its your fault you accepted the insured parcel.

The point is. Regardless of local country laws the post company who had to ship it would only refund the $20 als labeled on the parcel. Either to you or to him. You know that and he knows that too.

Or let me explain this with an example. I once bough a laser from Infinitus and knew he also would lable it as a flashlight that only costs about $15. I knew the risks and in case it would be confiscated or stolen I even wouldn´t bother him for a refund, because this would just mean a lot of trouble for him and me. Finally he could just refund me $15 that he got from the company who was sipping it to me.

But even if he would be willing to refund me more, this would only mean we both lost a lot of cash.

I myself would feel bad in such a case to ask him for a refund because he would loose his laser and the money it was worth.

So take it like a man.

People are spending more money for alcohol, cigarettes, drugs or tickets from the police than you lost. But realize it was not his fault because he shipped you a laser that was also worth the money, so he did everything to fill the contract with you and even offered you a 50% refund for a next purchase.

Finally. People like to blame others because it´s easier to blame others than to admit they made themselfes something wrong. So please stop to blame lazerer on this and hijacking this threat. If you still feel you need to discuss this further, open a new one.

I'm certainly glad that worked out well:beer:

Now that you mention it though, the package was insured for $100 since I sent it EMS, but even if it was lost or confiscated, or whatever, I wouldn't have been able to claim more than the $15 marked on the actual shipping slip. It's not beyond reason at all, that the same situation happened here.

If there was an issue, I would have felt bad and offered to split the difference 50/50 with you, but at the same time, if anything, I would have been on the hook for the full amount, since via tracking you would have been able to show PP that you didn't get the package.

Since then I decided that if I do sell any lasers internationally, I will only offer tracked shipping, and request payment as gift, which means the buyer accepts the risk in terms of confiscation or any other problem.

When I do sell lasers occasionally now, they are always offered as is, and the only thing I'm willing to offer is that they will arrive, and working.

If someone comes to me weeks after I know the laser is delivered and says there is a problem... well, that's too bad.

Actually had that happen, one guy said his laser stopped working.... after three weeks of use, and it being dropped... funny thing is it turned out to be the battery.

Edit: Ebay is FAR from perfect. There is some added protection, but there are still problems all the time. When it comes to handheld lasers, ebay is actually one of the worst places to buy from imo.

Hi Harry,

This is Max from LAZERER. I totally understand your feeling. However we can't refund in this situation but offer 50% off on new order base on the following reason.

1. To be honest we won't be able to determine the authenticity on this matter. Not meaning that I don't trust you. But if every say their package is opened and the content is stolen. We will have to refund 50% for all the order. We can only believe the laser is arriver in the same condition they were shipped.

2. The picture you send cannot be a kind of evidence because it can be demage by the recipient upon delivery.

3. I know this is annoying but according to our shipping policy any problem caused by the shipping process or custom issue is not our responsibility. This is not our fault. Buyer should determine whether they should import the laser product into their country before placing the order and by placing the order buyer is aggree to take the risk on above case.

4. We believe resend with discount is the best way to resolve the matter because we did ship to Netherlands many times before with no problem. Stolen laser is just a exceptional case.

Surely we both don't want to see this thing happening but I hope we can resolve the matter is mature and reasonable way. I hope you will consider not to say something that is not ture. Firstly:

1. We never say your package is insured. And infact you haven't take insurance for your original order. The amount you've paid is 147.98 ( $134.99 laser + $12.99 goggles ) + 1.99 registered fee. You are taking our free shipping methods. As listed on our site clear Shipping charges includes shipping, handling, packing materials processing charges etc. not the insurance charge. $1.99 is registered fee only. Insurance fee is not a fixed amount as it will varies with the total value of the package.

2. We never refused to take insurance for your resend order. We just say we will resend with 50% discount (free standard registered airmail). What shipping method and whether take insurance will be your choice on your additional cost.

2. Tracking number is not a kind of insurance. It will only allow you to trace your parcel throughout the shipping process. But won't protect your package from losing or confiscated.

We have clear guideline on what to do in what situation. I feel sorry to this matter but the threaten on email and spamming post on the forum wouldn't change anything.

Hi Max,

It is very comforting to see that you actually respond to this thread. It shows your genuine care for your customers and time & effort put into your business dealings.

Now that I'm rest assured with your authenticity, I take back my post and will not be canceling my order with your company.

Now just hoping no one steals my package here in Canada :p
