No Webpage

Why does this forum work when the new POS Windows 7 reports, "The web page can not be found"? This just started for me.

strange.. does same problem happen in different browser on same computer (e.g. firefox, chrome)

im guessing this is an issue with the PC not something on LPF side.

u could also try changing DNS servers if the problem persists and see if that fixes it

Well for me Just about all the ads on top of LPF does not work. Says pages cannot be displayed.

The Back button stopped working too.

Iam not the only one that this has happen too also.

This all happened after the spam block update.

Its starting to make LPF very difficult to view.

I have tried every browser i have nd still does the same thing.

Its been like this for a few days now.

Iam Using IE. But FireFox does the same.

The back button on mine now needs at least 3 clicks to work and the top of the page is messed up. This is on my new "windows 7 :-(" computer and my notebook using XP. The notebook started this several days ago.

Yes Its Exactly 7 times for me in order to go back. Iam Using XP.

I know there is 2 other people also with the same thing.

Yeah, every ad for me is "Webpage cannot be found", and the back button I have to slam 5-6 times for it to 'take'. Back button is dead for me, too.

Exactly the same problem (both symptoms) as what everyone else is describing.

Same deal on 3 of my computers, Windows 7 and XP, Firefox and IE.

Really, having the exact same problems as Hemlock_Mike and Lazeerer.

I had the problem on IE but not on Chrome. Mabye its some default setting Idk. I'm no IT guy

I just fired up my old dead laptop and it's the same again. This computer hasen't run in 2 years......
Oh well --- it still works.

Odd, haven't had any issues with webpages not found and no issues with the back button either on Win 7 x64 & Chrome.

The same happened at work, but it probably had a banner restrictions or something, but worked ok hen I got home. Maybe something to do with popup blockers ???

Don't think so... Was on my work computer with XP today, on the forum, same thing was going on. No blockers there. Same deal on my laptop, and on my main home machine, and on my work laptop.

So that's 4 systems, with disparate browsers and OSes doing this... So something is definitely up here, even if some folks are not getting the problem...

Heh, I counted too. Exactly 7 times for me, too. Actually, reading this thread made it easier -- now I know to hit the back button 7 times

My last post here was trashed here too. 7 times works for me to back up. WTF is chrome? I don't need more crap in my computer.

Odd. I haven't seen any issues. I run Firefox on Win 7 at home and XP with IE at work. Work is slow as a dog because of something with the ads. I always assumed this was just some of the filters at work.

I have the ad issues only when viewing LPF on my mobile. My home PC is fine...

Well, it seems to intermittently affect different people. Note, these ads are served up by googleads/doubleclick, which is going to serve different ads (or at least take different metrics) depending on where you are, and what route you're taking.

But, this problem is definitely manifesting itself to a number of people in exactly the same way, across very different platforms... So I don't think we're all on drugs... I wouldn't even say it's Avery's config neccessarily; I think it's related to the ads, *they* are probably screwed up, and loading 7 layers into a frame.

Yup, that's exactly what's going on. Each one of those frames, that loads the failed ad, actually loads 7 layers into history. Hitting the back button actually executes a 'back' only on that ad frame. The URL changes each time, 7 times, until it finally "runs out" and then the "back" is issued to the entirety of the page itself.

It seems that they are responding with an Error 400; "malformed request", which I'm guessing has something to do with the configuration of the URL itself being served.

... Seven of those will be loaded, in sequence, one after another, in each ad frame. Because of this, page history becomes 7 layers deep, and is not actuallly backing out until the first in the series is reached. I'm guessing that this 'broken' ad is being served in some locales, and not others, due to google/doubleclick's "intelligent" network which serves ads based on IPADDR/geolocation crossrefs. ... This is probably why some people aren't experiencing the problem.

Here's what those of us who are having the problem are seeing, (in addition to experiencing the 'must hit back 7 times' phenomenon.) -- This appears to have started to happen 4-5 days ago. Maybe 6.
