i use to be a chile head as they are called. my tolerance is probably still above the average person, but nothing like before. i too own 6 am reserve (the hottest thing so far). mine ain't so pretty any more seeing as i opened it :p i bought it years ago, and this shop owner i knew knew blair and hooked it up for me for 150 bucks :p LOL. i own :D nah that guy was cool.

in my prime i downed habaneros like nothing and used 1,000,000 scoville unit sauce like taco sauce(was still pretty hot). i was never able to master the 6 am reserve.

one day my over confidence got the best of me. i was using a chop stick to dab a bit of it in a small tub so i could take the tub to my friend's house. i was like wtf it's so thick, i don't want to waste all of what's left on the chop stick. so i was like eh i'll try some. and bam it hit me.... i tried to hold it in, but then my eyes and ears burn and my whole face burned. the pain grew and i knelt on the floor trying to hold it in, but then i gave up and drank milk and i was all better :)

i gave up on hot foods because i had obtained the hottest sauce. i think my obsession was to try hotter and hotter things, but then once you've tried the hottest there's just no thrills any more. so now days hot sauces aren't even on my mind when it comes to food. i'm more into the flavor than the heat. so i like sweet chile sauces and stuff :p

I like some pretty spicy stuff, nothing unusual though. My mom bought a pepper plant - not knowing it was a habanero =P

Still have a bunch of those dried, they get used occasionally in food. I prefer not to cause myself pain, just use them for tasty dishes :)

I've grown up eating hot stuff, and I've eaten a habanero without any problems, but last time i went to the gun show in Ft. Worth a guy let me try some cooking hot sauce that was 2 million scovilles. I only had about 3 drops of it on a chip. After chewing it for about ten seconds and swallowing it I couldnt even talk. My dad was laughing at me, and said my face turned purple... Oh and i didnt have anything else to eat, or drink.

actually i've tasted pepper spray. i sprayed some out in a dish and tasted it. the one i tried was pretty sweet. i don't think it was the 10% kind. it was more of a generic one. i also put some in my eye just to sample, it hurt way more than i expected. LOL.

Me thinks this kid is a spreader of tall tails. :shhh:

eh... it's 100% true. i don't make up things. curosity got me wondering. plus everyone who has ever owned sauces with extract in it or has handled hot peppers knows how hard it is to wash capsaicin off. just don't touch certain areas or your eyes til hours later or suffer the consequences XD so i just wanted to see how much pepper spray hurts more than accidental semi exposure from contaminated hands... far worse with pepper spray.

and i'm not a kid... i'm gonna b 25 in july. so yeah.

LOL, don't say it to me ..... when i was 17, i tasted once a mix of wasabi and something other, don't know what, on a friend suggestion ..... i was not knowing what it was ..... it was green, so i trusted him that it was just a normal green sauce ..... and placed a decent half teaspoon on a piece of bread :p .....

Please note, i don't like hot spices, and i hate hot sauces ..... so i let you imagine the result ..... and i let you imagine also how much i cursed him, when i started again to breath and talk (i've not killed him probably just cause we was in public, and there was too much witness around :p :D)

I agree, but to put it in your eye is another thing. I love hot food. I make a 4 alarm chili that no one else will eat. Where I live you cant buy hot (what I consider hot) food. I've also tasted pepper spray, and I would never put it near my eye.

This is a redundant statement.

You have a strange tic. Once you get on a subject, you keep hammering like a jack hammer, like the habanero pepper you keep mentioning. The same with your views on Opera. That's OCPD. Not trying to put you down, but they have meds for that if its a problem in real life.

why are you ragging on him? he's just making conversation and saying that a habanero is far worse than wasabi. wasabi got vapor properties (or what ever you want to call it), but is nothing compared to a habanero in the heat/pain factor. Maybe he just has an interest in habaneros or a fascination.

your interests reflect in your references and conversations. being interested in something is far from obsessive compulsive. now if everything he said, even outside of this topic, had to be related to habaneros then he MIGHT have obsessive compulsive.

why are you ragging on him anyways? bored?
