Pork rinds are good. Cracklin's are the ultra in pig goodness.
Pork rinds have the fat fried out and are kind of fluffy, cracklins are deep fried pig skins with the fat and the occasional hair left on.
Every year I go to Louisiana for Thanksgiving and make a special trip to a place in Breau Bridges La., called Poche's.  And yes, the cracklins are worth the eleven hour drive.  They go great with beer, crawfish, shrimp and sauage gumbo. Did I mention the beer part ?    CMD ;D
Eww...
Hair?

Of course pork rinds are real, murudai!

They actually got a big boost in popularity in a lot of places when the Atkin's Diet was really big there for a while. Since they have no carbs and the same amount of fat as potato chips, they were the preferred salty snack for a lot of people I knew that went on Atkin's. when you think about it, they're really about the only salty snack that has no carbs.

And, they're delicious.

You don't even notice the hair. Besides the taste more than makes up for any small character flaws, like feeling you're arteries starting to clog or a few hairs.

They are one of my favorite snacks.  I cannot sit down with the whole bag in front of me.  I have to place some into a bowl.  Otherwise I will finish the bag  :-[

Peace,dave

Quoted for truth.  I especially enjoy the red-hot kind or BBQ. Yum.

I discovered them when starting a low-carb diet years ago. I haven't looked back since.

I love them but I love the mexican and thai version. They cut them in strips and it is a 3 layer thing, not just the puffed skin. the strips have the skin, fat and meat. it is fried twice. once at a lower heat to cook it, the it is cooled then it is fried at nearly double heat to get that super yummy crispy thing going. And obviously it is great with beer. ;D ;D :D

At work we get some Chicharrón Tacos from the local catering truck. They are the pork grinds but put into tacos. They add some cilantro, onions and some spices. They are very good. One of my co-workers brought some in and we made tacos at work.

I've never heard of boiled peanuts in RC Cola.

Plain, salted peanuts in RC Cola: Absolutely. That is a classic, timeless tradition, lots of people do this in the south. Some people use Coke, some people use Pepsi, but RC Cola is the classic one to use when putting peanuts in your cola.

Do you take the shells off or put the whole, shelled peanut in?
