Way ahead of you. There won't be anything sprayed on the threads or in any way to keep the host from conducting electricity.

I'm in for 2. Copper heatsink.

Do they come with a battery contact board?

Also I would make the fins on the head part cut as deep as possible and see if adding more toward the top would add anything to the cost. This would enhance the cooling ability.

Rifter, yes, they come with a contact board. If you want it installed and two wires to just solder the diver in a module to it is $2.00 each. Check the spreadsheet, you are on it. :thanks:

I will updated the OP about contact boards and leads.

Contact board will be free of charge as said by Paul.

No anodizing will be applied on this host. I have made a lot of parts with this specific factory. They made my Arcane 2.0 host and all of my 501B heatsinks.

Paint can be applied to the host. These paints are auto type paints , which are used to paint cars , aircraft and boats.

What you're calling copper heatsink is the entire head or just some internal part?

Also - how much would it weight with and without the copper HS?

Atomicrox, we don't have a name for it yet. I can't tell you the mass of the different parts because there isn't a prototype, so the head is all copper if you choose that option.

SN P, I will add you to spreadsheet in a few minutes. When you said you want a contact board, are you asking that it be installed for you? The reason I ask is that they come with a contact board at no extra charge, but if you want it installed it will cost you an additional $2.00 per host for that option. :) Paul

Joker, you may not be able to answer this without contacting the machinists, but- is matte black a possibility, as well as a polished finish?

Oh, I didn't realise that they came with contact boards at no extra charge. If that is the case then my order would be a normal one without the installation.

crazyspaz, yeah, it is more than possible. These will be painted at Eitan's father's paint shop with Auto-body paint. It can be metal flake or matte finished, no problem.

Maybe we could get pnly the head painted, copper would tarnish very quickly if left uncoated :(

I'm afraid there will be a charge for the painting option,. but it won't be much IIRC. I'll ask thejoker301 for the exact price. I am personally going to keep my host unpainted. It may be a little extra work to polish it from time to time, but I like the look of copper. If I had my way I would electroplate it with gold. I have a Cyprus II that I am leaving just the way it is. If you polish it with a reducing agent, it isn't much trouble.

Hi Everyone :)

Paint prices :

* Black matte / White matte - $5
* Mirror Polished option - $10

I got a lot of pictures of our paints. Check this Arcane 2.0 Matte black coated for example : http://www.sflasers.us/Arcane_20_520nm/p2035127_12748261.aspx

I now also painted one in white for a customer of mine. I can take some pics of the white coating.

About clear coating the copper , I can check that with my father when he comes back.

I can calculate the exact mass of the host with the software :

* Cu Head Host - 244g
* Al Head Host - 135g

The Aluminium heatsink weight is 47g while a common 501B heatsink weigh 34g.

So even the Al heatsink is better than the 501B one.

The Copper heatsink weigh 156g alone.

I really think for the price of $18 this is a very good host. Again , if anyone has ideas that we can use / add / edit the host with ... please feel free to post them here :beer:
